This was my first worldpackers experience, and I could not have asked for a better host. Alex is truly a wonderful and kind human being. As volunteers, we got to do lots of different tasks, all fun! In general, the lodge is a great place to be.

Volunteering at La Comarca is a unique experience ! The welcome is very warm and you immediately feel part of a family. Alex and Marco are very attentive hosts, flexible and always full of good advice for visiting the surrounding area. The place is a little way out of Quepos, which is part of its charm, and there are always lots of activities to do with the other volunteers ! I highly recommend volunteering here !

Choosing La Comarca as my first volunteer experience was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The place is beautiful, close to a bus station, and perfect for exploring on days off. The tasks were fair, very fun, and I learned more in two weeks than I had in the past year. Alex and Marco are truly some of the nicest people I've met, and I felt at home right from the start. I met amazing travelers from around the world and formed connections I'll cherish forever. I'm endlessly grateful for my time there and I'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything, Alex and Marco — love you

La Comarca gave me the best first volunteer experience I could wish for. Alex and Marco immediately made me feel at home, and I learned so much during my stay. I loved cooking, eating, swimming in the river, visiting the waterfall, and sharing games and long talks. Because we spent such intense time together, everyone found a place in my heart, and I miss them all deeply. Our days-off trips were great, and Alex and Marco kindly drove us to the bus. I truly recommend this amazing place to anyone who loves nature and warm people.

My time at the Comarca is second to none and I couldn't be more blessed to do so. Alex, first of all, is the most down to earth human I have ever met. He is so smart and helped me not only aquire more skills, but look deeper within myself. Marco is the world's best chef and if you like pizza you will fall in love with his cooking. Alex is creating something very beautiful for both the volunteers and guests. He makes sure that everyone's needs are accounted for while still creating accountability for all of the people staying. I will be returning as soon as I can and will be forever grateful!!

My time at La Comarca was truly amazing and I recommend this experience to absolutely everyone who likes being surrounded by nature and meeting so many interesting people!! Working hours were always fun and as agreed on and the entire property is very clean and cozy. There's easy access to the bus station, to do something on your day off and a beautiful river and waterfall to swim in. Thank you for everything:)

We really enjoy our time in La Comarca. Alex and Marco are very warmthful persons that makes you feel at home from the second you arrive. It is a place full of live and the more days you spend there the more you enjoy it. The vibes were amazing. We loved swimming in the river, walking up to the waterfall and spending time in the big dome:) Thank youu;) ( from Marine y Camille )

La Comarca is truly a magical place. One of the best two weeks of my life. It's in a gorgeous location (about 40 minutes away from Quepos/the lodge by bus) with a river nearby, and insane natural beauty everywhere. Our tasks were reasonable, and divided very fairly every day. The best part was the family I made there, people I will stay connected to for the rest of my life! Cooking and eating meals together, doing our tasks, and going on adventures was SO FUN. The rooms are small, but still quite comfortable! Alex and Marco are great hosts, a perfect first volunteer opportunity for me:)

Alex and Marco are more than just hosts — they become your friends and confidants. Alex himself was a volunteer, and you can tell; he's created a magical space where all of us volunteers can connect and form a true family. We have regular outings, and on workdays we do spontaneous things like movie nights, yoga, or whatever comes up. It's a wonderful, almost spiritual experience — which makes sense, considering Alex's resemblance to Jesus Christ. There's no way to repay all the experiences I've had the privilege to live in this place, thanks to such kind-hearted souls as Alex and Marco

I highly recommend going to La Comarca, especially for a first volunteering. This place and the people made me feel at home for a few weeks and that's the reason I decided to extend my stay. The volunteers' rooms are small but it's enough for the time you spend there. The daily task are easy, mostly cleaning, cooking and gardening. Working hours are very flexible and you still have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks to Marco and Alex, who are amazing hosts, attentive and available, I had an extraordinary experience and I would go back without any hesitation!!
