Tao guesthouse
Tao guesthouse is an informal place situated in the country side of Laos.
Travellers could enjoy a chill vibe and stay in contact with the surrounding nature.
The guesthouse is located on the river side. The area features picturesque karst mountains, tropical forest and rice fields.
Besides the guesthouse we run a farm featuring a wide range of plants and quite a few animals
We also grow rice and among many other things we grow and process our own coffee.
We are hard working people passionate about nature and self sustainable agriculture. We like to make gardens, produce organic food and breed animals. We love to bring people in touch with the local culture, the nature and self sustainable ways of life.

I had lovely experience at Taos Farm. The locals and the other volunteers made it a very special experience for me!
The work was fair. Mikele, Tao + plus Family were really kind.
Mikele is fluent in English, Tao speeks just a little but for the basic needs it's fine.
Our tasks were watering the plants, build a new field for planting seeds, shoveling the cow poop, carry for the fresh straw, ...
I loved being in touch with nature, so it was very peaceful there.

I had the best time at Tao‘s Farm! The tasks we were working on in the morning were variable and interesting. In the afternoon we had free time and explored the beautiful surroundings. We visited the waterfall, went tubing, went for walks.. I really felt welcomed by Tao and her family and got to know Laos culture better. Would definitely recommend volunteering on Tao‘s Farm!

It was my first time volunteering on a farm and i loved it !!! Every day we did something different: watering the crops, picking fruits and coffee beans, cutting wood and cleaning the garden, picking up cow shit, preparing the soil for planting… 3-4 hours in the morning and then free. Tao and Mikele are very kind. Dina is such a cute and funny girl. There are lots of baby animals at the moment and they are so cute 😍
Mikele spend most of his time at the guesthouse and we work with Tao, i wish she could speak more english so that we could learn more about Laos and their culture

We had a such a great week at Tao’s farm. We walked away feeling like we had a real authentic experience of Laos. Tao, Michele and all the people we met during our stay were welcoming and kind to us. It is the highlight of our trip around SE Asia so far!
