Moinhos Velhos
We've been running juice detox and yoga programmes for over 30 years and the place is a treasure trove of holistic wellness and natural health knowledge! We have a great sense of community and like to have a high vibration positive outlook, clean living, but fun!
Volunteers are treated like one of the family - we all eat together and share the community experience. But in turn we desire people to show motivation and enthusiasm and see it as more than a job - it's a chance to participate in a beautiful natural environment full of lovely gentle and sensitive people who treat you well!

The time at MH was absolutely incredible! The nature, the people, the whole surrounding - true magical. I learned a lot personally and I expanded my knowledge regarding mindfulness, sustainability, health and living in a community. I can definitely recommend staying at this wonderful place 🫶🏻✨

I had a wonderful month staying at Moinhos Velhos, the people I lived and worked with became like a family. The place itself its healing and grounding. I enjoyed waking up to the silence of the mountains and sun. The tasks were very fair and nice, I really enjoyed learning about the juicing processes and more. The owners really care about their place and their volunteers. Chris, one of the owners, really made me feel safe and appreciated.
I will never forget this place and the people that made it so special!

I had the most amazing, transformative, and peaceful time at Moinhos Velhos. It instantly feels like a little home away from home. The team is welcoming and supportive, and the work is balanced, leaving plenty of time to relax, explore, or just soak it all in. Being able to join the yoga and meditation classes made the experience even more nourishing. I loved it so much that I ended up extending my stay by a couple of weeks. So grateful for this beautiful place and all the wonderful people who made it extra special.

I had such an incredible time at Moinhos Velhos! Although I only stayed two weeks, the community made such a big impact on me. I learned so much, had the opportunity to try new things, foods, and explore Lagos in my free time! The hosts truly care and made it such a great environment. Thank you all for everything! I hope to come back again!
