Moinhos Velhos
We've been running juice detox and yoga programmes for over 30 years and the place is a treasure trove of holistic wellness and natural health knowledge! We have a great sense of community and like to have a high vibration positive outlook, clean living, but fun!
Volunteers are treated like one of the family - we all eat together and share the community experience. But in turn we desire people to show motivation and enthusiasm and see it as more than a job - it's a chance to participate in a beautiful natural environment full of lovely gentle and sensitive people who treat you well!

Moinhos Velhos was not just any volunteer experience, we truly became a family.
The owners really understand how to take care of us I always felt valued and respected. The work/hours ratio is very fair and the perks are amazing. I am very grateful for everyone I met and for everything I learned!
Be prepared to take Uber or Bolt if you wanna go out because the property is outside of town and a lot of the times it is the only option. But there are many other volunteers so you can always share

Moinos Velhos can only be described as a family. A group of strangers who have come together to make something beautiful. You will never see the fruit of your own labour, but every day you witness the years of others hard work and investment into the property. People come from all walks of life to make this a safe, inclusive, eco conscious, family ran community. We came as strangers and left with lifelong bonds because Moinos fosters these relationships. We had chances to learn so much and eat amazing food and spend time on this gorgeous commune where we felt so taken care of. We <3 MV

I had a great time at Moinhos Velhos. The people were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the place itself is beautiful. Working in the garden and helping prepare meals was both rewarding and enjoyable. I learned so much during my time there, from practical garden knowledge to mindfulness practices, and through shared experiences with the other volunteers. There was a real sense of community.
Overall, it was an amazing opportunity to reset and reflect, while eating healthy and living simply. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and fun experience.
