Somos una familia muy pequeña y valoramos a cada voluntario que viene con intenciones de ayudar y colaborar con nosotros.
brindamos un espacio para su estadía, yo (Nelson) vivo en casa con ellos y compartimoos el tiempo juntos, también estamos a un paso del lago y todos los voluntarios que han llegado, pasan medio dia en hostel y medio dia en agua haha
solo soy yo Nelson, me ayuda Dennilson en limpieza y orden de la casa, Mauricio es el otro socio pero el nunca esta con nosotros, mas que todo sere yo (Nelson) con quien tendrás mas contacto

I loved everything about Ahau Tikal! I was working at the reception and honestly never felt like work, everything was so enjoyable and easygoing. -Even during my free time I found myself wanting to help the hostel:) You have plenty of free time which is perfect for exploring the lovely island of Flores. Nelson is an amazing host so kind-hearted, thoughtful, chill and fun! I’m really happy I got to meet him!!
Dennilson is also wonderful, always helpful with everything. The other volunteers were all super sweet as well!
I’d absolutely love to come back someday!!!

The experience at Ahou was amazing. Nelson makes you feel at home and part of the Ahou family. The work is fun and as described. Would definitely go back. Gracias por todo :)

My time at Ahau Tikal has truly been wonderful. You guys made me feel at home, feeling to appreciative and warm. I’ve made friends, got to experience Flores and around and found a place to ground and center myself. Thank you for everything! I will definitely remember this place forever and cherish this memory<3

Ahau is an amazing place to volunteer! The love that’s been put into the place is obvious from the second you arrive. The team is amazing, the garden is beautiful and the vibes are super cosy. The work is easy and they’re also flexible so you can go on tours.
For me, the thing that makes this place so special is the team! Nelson is so friendly and helpful to everyone he meets. Dennilson is so hard working and i always had great chats with on reception. Mauricio, I loved practicing Spanish with!
Thank you so much for making Flores feel like a second home 🫶

I had an amazing time at Ahau! Nelson’s super friendly and flexible with everything, and the whole place just has a great energy. Definitely one of my favorite volunteering experiences.
