Beach Volunteering at Monkey Beach Penang in Malaysia

A experiência vale a pena.

Had a really fun time volunteering at the host. Super chill atmosphere, the work is good, and David is the best, an amazing host. The dogs are adorable ! The place is a bit rustic, but you get used to it really quickly. Would definitely recommend!

I had a great time at David's camp site, enjoyed the nature and local way of life. David is full of experiences and wisdom, talking to him was very interesting, would have liked to spend more time with him, the dogs are very friendly and adopt you as part of the family, a frat experience to be in nature and see the jungle next to the beach. Recommend if you want to experience a natural lifestyle. Thanks David to share your time and place!

I only spent a week here, but it was a meaningful one for me. As David, the host, always says, this experience is not for everyone: it's a the host with the essential, electricity not every day, basic facilities, but great food, moments of sharing and moments of solitude and reflection. The activities are simple (offering drinks to tourists and chatting with them, keeping the bar and beach clean, scaring the monkeys, spending time with the 6 dogs). Thank you, David, for offering this opportunity to backpackers, and who knows, maybe we'll see each other again after the famous 8 months period!

Different way of living. Do not do if you arnt afraid of living with the basics. Was a great experience and I would recommend. Limited service and some days without electricity will make you disconnect and recharge without the online world which is great. The days were spent chilling. Talk to the few tourists who did come. Very slow sales not a lot of work but u did get pretty good at cutting coconuts

Had an amazing stay at the host — such a beautiful way to connect with nature. David, the host, is a funny and real person who makes the experience even better. If you enjoy camping by the jungle and ocean, this is the perfect place for you.

I had a great time volunteering at the host Bar! David, is super funny. One of the highlights for me was spending time with his six amazing dogs — they bring so much life and joy to the place. This is a self-managed, community-style environment, which means you need to be proactive and responsible. It's not the kind of place for people who just come for free accommodation and expect everything to be done for them, keep it in mind. Overall, it's an awesome experience if you enjoy being independent, love dogs, and want to be in nature. Thanks for everything David and Azmi see u next time

What an unforgettable experience! During my stay at the host I got to get off my phone for good and reconnect with nature. The host, David, is amiable and layed back, and the work is a piece of cake. What made me appreciate this experience the most was all the peculiar memories I now share with the other volunteers. From trying to scare the monkeys away when cooking, and getting scared instead; to having jupscares at night, in the dark, from seeing spiders, centipedes and hermits crawling in the sand. At the edge with the untamed Malaysian jungle no two days were the same. Just be wary!
