I had a great time volunteering at the host Bar! David, is super funny. One of the highlights for me was spending time with his six amazing dogs — they bring so much life and joy to the place. This is a self-managed, community-style environment, which means you need to be proactive and responsible. It's not the kind of place for people who just come for free accommodation and expect everything to be done for them, keep it in mind. Overall, it's an awesome experience if you enjoy being independent, love dogs, and want to be in nature. Thanks for everything David and Azmi see u next time

What an unforgettable experience! During my stay at the host I got to get off my phone for good and reconnect with nature. The host, David, is amiable and layed back, and the work is a piece of cake. What made me appreciate this experience the most was all the peculiar memories I now share with the other volunteers. From trying to scare the monkeys away when cooking, and getting scared instead; to having jupscares at night, in the dark, from seeing spiders, centipedes and hermits crawling in the sand. At the edge with the untamed Malaysian jungle no two days were the same. Just be wary!

The camping was amazing! It's a small and familiar place where You learn how to Connect with nature, you eat really good and you learn to Connect with yourself again. You have six wonderful dogs that protection you and love you a lot. The tasks are not difficult. The place it's small but enough to have a great time and expérience. David is an amazing person, he will teach you how to fish, how to cut coconuts and how to cook the best meals ever!!

My time at the host was amazing! I absolutely loved living by the beach spending each day with the beautiful dogs and other amazing volunteers. David and Azmi were both lovely hosts and I had heaps of fun learning how to cook Malay food! Thank you David for taking me fishing and to Azmi for teaching us how to gut and cook them properly! the host will forever hold a place in my heart thank you guys for everything! I will be back ❤️

I had the absolute best time at the host! It's such a peaceful place, super chill vibes all around. The dogs actually look out for you and are just the sweetest companions. David and Azmi r amazing! They r kind, and always made sure everyone feels welcome. David also always brings us food and we all prepare meals with the other volunteers. He even takes volunteers to see the bioluminescent planktons at night!! 🌌 and taught us how to fish as well. I learned so many new things, met such great people, and made amazing memories I'll never forget. If I could stay longer, I would. 🤎

Staying at the host was such a special experience! Surrounded by peaceful nature, we loved helping out and spending time with the six sweetest dogs. We cooked together like a family, and David even taught us how to fish, we absolutely love him for that! It's the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the simple things in life. We came all the way from Spain for this and it was totally worth it. Thank you for everything David! We Will never forget it, 100% recommended!

Es un lugar realmente hermoso, tuvimos la oportunidad de conectar con la naturaleza y diferentes tipos de animales que se encontraban en la isla, desde un principio David nos acogió y nos dio una experiencia culinaria muy local, lo cual nos permitió tener una experiencia mucho mas enriquecedora desde el principio.Ademas fue nuestro primer voluntariado con mi pareja y claramente volveremos al anfitrión. Gracias David por la buena onda y esperamos volver en otra temporada.

Fue nuestra primera experiencia como pareja en el anfitrión. Desde el empezo David fue muy amable y colaborativo con nosotros, dandonos libertad para escoger nuestros horarios de trabajo. El lugar es hermoso y el plus se agrega con los 6 perros cariñosos. Gracias otra vez por los cursos de cocina, esperemos poder volver y un gran saludo a David !!

Such a wonderful volunteering experience! Everything was super easy and relaxed, and you really feel connected to nature. The dogs are amazing, and cooking together with David was a real highlight. I truly enjoyed my time here and can only recommend it! 🌴🐾💚

I had an amazing two weeks at the host! You really get the chance to disconnect and find some peace in nature. 🌿 You get to meet people from all over the world, whether it's the guests or fellow volunteers. The dogs are definitely a highlight, they're super sweet 🐕 Thank you to Azmi and David for everything, I hope to be back soon!
