I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel! I helped with reception, housekeeping, and breakfast. Juan, the host, was incredibly generous—he helped me explore nearby sections of El Camino and introduced me to the vibrant, creative community that brings El Camino to life in such a special and wholesome way. The albergue itself is full of history, beauty, and heart, and the team dorm was so comfortable that it truly felt like a second home. Tasks were manageable and naturally varied depending on the number of pilgrims. Overall, a beautiful experience I highly recommend!

Me sentí como en casa desde el primer momento. Gracias a Juan y su actitud abierta y acogedora. Él es una persona muy buena y siempre me ha tratado con mucho respeto y amabilidad. Me encantaba trabajar y tener conversaciones de cualquier cosa con él, las tareas eran sencillas y también había suficiente tiempo para relajarse y disfrutar la naturaleza y belleza de este lugar. No puedo describir adecuadamente que majo mi estancia en el albergue era, pero de verdad es una experiencia que solo puedo recomendar a todos. Gracias a todos que estaban allí conmigo, os echaré de menos :)

My experience was full of learning. I got to know so much about the Camino de Santiago by talking with pilgrims and sharing time with Juan and his friends. The tasks are in the morning cleaning, and helping pilgrims in the afternoon at the bar and reception, assisting with dinner, and washing dishes. There's no fixed schedule, so it's very important to coordinate well with the others volunteers to organize the free day and break during the day. If you're looking to learn about the Camino, enjoy nature, and connect deeply with locals, pilgrims, and others volunteers, this experience is for you

My first volunteering experience has been absolutely amazing and unforgettable! From the first day I felt at home. Juan is a beautiful person, he takes care of every volunteer. The albergue is cosy, surrounded by nature, the environment is peaceful. It is a special place full of good vibes. Tasks are easy and there's always someone ready to help you if you need. I have learnt so many things. Talking to pilgrims and assisting them has been a true pleasure. I feel so grateful to have enjoyed this incredible life experience, I will carry it in my heart forever. Gracias!

My experience at the hostel was really nice. It's a wonderful place where you can slow down and enjoy the little moments. I got along well with all the volunteers and with Juan, who always ensures that everyone feels comfortable. The work is not too tiring, and you will always find someone willing to help if you need it. Astorga is quite close, and you can reach it by walking, which I really appreciated. Grateful to have been there, see you on the next Camino!

I stayed at the hostel for 4 weeks. Juan, the owner of the place, is a really good chef and i am very grateful to him for the opportunity to make such experience. The tasks in August are very easy to do and we were 4 volunteers. Every morning we woke up and decide the task for each one of us. But the best part for me is to share my time with pilgrims and other volunteers. Thanks to Eric, i had a super time playing volley with you. Thanks Dong, Nivia, Lucho and Chiara, you will always have a piece of my heart. It's a quiet and peaceful place, if you are into that, i recommend it!

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue muy bonita, aprendí muchas cosas sobre como trabajar en un albergue, cocinar, limpiar, acoger a los peregrinos... Escuché historias de vidas de los peregrinos y de los otros que me acompañaron en esta experiencia y aprendí mucho. Juan y los otros voluntarios me recibieron muy bien y estuve muy bien con ellos. Tuve tiempo para relajarme, expresar mi creatividad y aprender cosas sobre mi misma. Gracias de todo🌻

The albergue lies in a small village of just over 100 residents, an Eden away from all the bustle and hustle of mega cities. It's exactly a South Park: "Friendly faces everywhere, humble folks without temptation!" Heads-up to party animals or city people, there's no parities or fancy dinners in the village, so don't even bother to send a request. The albergue lives in simplicity and semi-autosuffiency which is perfect for me as a minimalist. I got along well with other fellow volunteers and Juan, a caring and great person!! My honor to return to the Camino and serve the pilgrims. I had a blast

Everybody is really kind and gentle. They are always there to help whoever needs help! It really made El Camino much more meanfull.
