Had a great time volunteering for the hostel. Met so many special people here. The hostel staff are so amazing and the hostel attracts really cool and genuine travellers. The location and hostel itself are also gorgeous. Managers were super accommodating.

I had a great time at the hostel, the staff and other volunteers were so sweet and welcoming <3 I met so many incredible people here! The location is perfect, everything is in walking distance, but you can also rent a bike or scooter. The island is quite small, but it's such a lovely little community. I highly recommend this experience to anyone.

This was my first WorldPackers experience and it's fair to say I had a really great time here. I taught yoga 6 times a week with one day off and my hours were about 4/5 a day. I loved teaching a diverse group of guests and meeting amazing people. The other volunteers that were working with me at the time will be friends for life I'm sure :) Sometimes when there aren't enough volunteers working at one time, you have to step in to work extra hours which can sometimes be quite tiring, but the staff here are so lovely and welcoming and will always listen to any ideas or concerns you might have.

I just want to clarify that we typically have at least 1 extra volunteer on at all times to account for days off, illness, etc. It was unforeseen circumstances when multiple volunteers were sick at once and we requested an extra 30mins from 1 volunteer per day to ensure our tours still got sent off.

It's important that all volunteers are open and flexible to working as a team, and this means occasionally stepping in and helping a little extra when needed.

It's been my second time volunteering for the hostel it was an amazing feeling coming back to my second home and seeing and working again with the people who feel like my family. I could see the efforts to constantly improve the hostel itself but also the environment for the volunteers. Working again was super fun and as a social butterfly there was a lot of variety in my daily tasks. I can't wait to be back as soon as possible!

I spent 1 month in the hostel i have to say that it was the best volunteer experience that i ever had. Hostel is amazing, I learned how to do backflip in there, staff are super friendly, accomodation cozy… i felt in love with this small island, made my open water diving course, become friend with locals and can't wait to come back! I had a great experience volunteering for the hostel! The staff is lovely and it really is like a family. I taught yoga and also ended up doing some other roles for some of the time. The living space they provide is simple but has everything you need, and it's just a 10 sec walk away from the hostel which is nice if you need to get away and have a moment to yourself. the hostel T is a really fun and vibrant place to be and you meet a lot of fun people. the hostel as a hostel is wonderful, welcoming and social without being pushy for alcohol. Thanks guys!

Teaching yoga on this beautiful island is one of the best thing I've ever done. The island is full of energy, people here are friendly, so glad that I can join this big family❤️！ As a yoga teacher, I teach yoga classes and am responsible for the breakfast shift - already miss waffles🥹! Everything - people, food,activities…. in the hostel is organized and amazing! Lexy has a really kind and loving heart💗,really grateful for give me this chance to volunteer here🪷 （pssss: this island - totally a 🐱 cat island , already one of my favorite places! ）

Great experience, met some amazing and interesting people, the hostel is great vibes. Lexy is there to help if you reach out to her, but the other owner wasn't very professional. There were also a few activities that I didn't feel so comfortable with, like getting people to party and drink , when they were clearly already happy and enjoying themselves their own way, because the hostel is amazing with beautiful vibes.

I just want to clarify that we never want to pressure guests in to drinking or partying as we are very much a social hostel (not a party hostel) that focuses on genuine connection and experiences. All we ask is that our volunteers help promote activities (pool days, happy hour etc) by offering to deliver them a cold beer in the pool or sending some messages in our activity chat, as we put a lot of effort in to cultivating meaningful activities and experiences for guests!

My time here was unforgettable, thanks to the amazing managers, owners, and local staff. The island is stunning, with plenty to do, and it felt like a home away from home. However, communication between management and volunteers was a significant challenge. Expectations often shifted without notice, and during my final week, poor communication led to confusion and frustration. Flexibility is essential, as shifts can change unexpectedly. Despite this, my first time in Southeast Asia was incredible, and I'd recommend the hostel to anyone open to adapting and ready for adventure!

This is disheartening to hear as we pride ourselves on providing the best experience possible. We encourage open communication and inform our volunteers of any changes as we go. Roles can be shifted, which was covered in our detailed interview and we provided training and support for.
We, as well as our staff, also felt confusion during your time regarding your approach to the role but we were always ready and willing to support. We are sorry that this is your perception of your stay at Tipsea.

I have spent over three months with the hostel is has been the most amazing volunteer experience! This was my second time coming back and it remains a home away from home. A true paradise on a beautiful island. The work was fun and gave a chance to connect with locals and fellow travellers. As the yoga teacher I was responsible for breakfast shift and teaching yoga classes six days a week. All hours were agreed upon and Lexy the manager was extremely caring and loving towards all volunteers during my time here. The place, people and memories made here will stay in my heart forever.
