I really liked my stay in the hostel! I met so many nice people and i really felt seen and appreciated. The work is easy, the hostel is clean and you have your own room/bathroom for the volunteers. You can use the washing machine and the kitchen (but not in the morning and evening when the chef is there). But you can also eat the chefs dishes for a little amount of money which is really worthy!! I can recommend it to everyone! Things they could improve is giving the volunteers more direct instructions in person. And sometimes I felt that some of the staff wouldn't work as hard as the volunteers.

Overall, I had a really great time at the hostel in Takamatsu. The staff are all very friendly and always up for a little chat. Volunteers get their own private room, and in the evening, you can get a discount on food if you help with the dishwashing. The food is delicious, affordable, and a great way to try Japanese cuisine. I worked in Takamatsu for four weeks, and in hindsight, that might have been a bit too long—toward the end, it got a little boring since I had already seen most of the sights and there aren't too many attractions here. That being said, it's definitely a nice place.

I've stayed in the hostel for 3 weeks and my time flew by so fast. The host and staff are friendly and always happy to help with any of your questions. The work is very easy and the working hours are respected. I couldn't wish for a better start on Worldpackers.

A great first time volunteering experience with clean facilities and great staff. I would recommend staying around a month to fully explore the area and get to know everyone.

This was my first Worldpackers experience, but it couldn't have been better. I enjoyed every moment at the hostel, all the staff are wonderful, super friendly and are always ready to help, which made me feel very welcome and at home. The work environment was very pleasant and relaxed, the hours are always respected and well-balanced. The city itself is bigger than I expected, with many opportunities of day trips that you can do on your days off. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would definitely recommend it! Thank you for the great time and I hope our paths will cross again!:)

If you want to relax, live a local life and learn piano or guitar this is it for you. You sometimes also get 3 days in a row off so you can travel around. For example I did a 3 day bike tour. the shimanamikaido. Recommended. You do work a lot but that's ok. Ryo and the staff are the highlight of this place. Such cozy vibes with the team

The hostel is a wonderful place that brings together people from all over Japan and different parts of the world. Good working hours are balanced here to give you the opportunity to explore Takamatsu and its surroundings. Chizuru does an amazing job as a host, inviting you to participate in the dynamics of the hostel and the city. All the staff are really wonderful and friendly and can help you at any time. I hope to return in the future.

My stay at the hostel was really amazing. The work wasn't stressful or hard, and there was a well kept schedule. I really enjoyed the cooking by chef Ryo, he blew it out of the park every night with his food, and his amazing instrumental abilities. The best part of the stay were the people, connecting with the other volunteers and guests were the best parts of my days. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the hostel!

During my volunteering at the hostel, the team and guests created a welcoming and inspiring environment. The experience was a lot about connecting with amazing people from different backgrounds. It is also a good spot to travel around Shikoku and you can go for a short trips to Kansai area. I've learned quite a lot of things about japanese culture and cuisine. You can learn how to cook their meals from the hostel's chef himself. Overall it was an unforgettable experience that I would honestly recommend.

I had a fantastic 5 weeks at the hostel! The team is welcoming, and the location is perfect for exploring all that Shikoku has to offer. The work is straightforward and collaborative with other volunteers, especially on tasks like laundering bedsheets when it rains. While the kitchen hours on work days are limited, it is a good chance to plan and get creative with meal prep. Overall, the experience was memorable, and with a bit more focus on team coordination, it could be even more amazing.
