My stay at the reserve Natural Reserve was truly amazing. Got to meet wonderful people and get in touch with nature. The hosts are very kind souls who are very dedicated to restore the local fauna. Didn't have the opportunity to meet Kobus in depth but he was very nice to me. Deon and Gerda are so nice and learnt so much from them. Deon made sure i didnt feel so alone as I was alone volunteering for a week and Gerda's cooking/baking is amazing. Will miss the reserve and Santa Catalina (specially the mangos and vetkoek hahah). Hope im back someday!

My stay at the reserve Natural Reserve truly was a great one! I stayed for about a week, and learned so much about the balance of nature and especially about the importance, and how to's, of maintaining and facilitate the local flora and fauna. The communication with Kobus both before, during and after my stay was really good, and they were flexible with small variations in the dates i had originally booked. The accommodation was good! I really enjoyed the closeness to nature, listening to the wildlife from the comfort of being inside my mosquito net. Would definitely stay again!

The experience at the reserve was amazing. I was received with open arms by the whole Family. Kobus, Gerda and Dion showed us so many things about nature, animals and fieldwork over the whole week, I learned a lot. We did different tasks every day. From collecting eggs to cutting wood and mending fences. I will miss the cooking routine in the morning and evening with the other volunteers and Dion and also Gerda's cooking at lunch. Thank you so much for this cool experience.

I felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. Kobus, Gerda and Deon are such a nice host family with huge knowledge. It's an amazing project on their property, and I'm glad I could help. There are a lot of different tasks to do like watering trees, repairing the fence, cutting grass, feed the chicken, collect eggs etc. I had a really great time here and could learn a lot.

I had a great time in Santa Catalina! Kobus, Gerda, and Deon are all so kind and welcoming. During the shifts, I spent my time watering trees, cutting grass, learning to use a chainsaw, and helping with the chickens. Deon, the other volunteers, and I would make breakfast together in the morning, start the day's tasks, and then have a delicious lunch made by Gerda. I learned so much about the wildlife, trees, and ecosystem. The town and beach is about a 40 minute walk away but we hitch hiked or got rides from Kobus, Deon, or Gerda.

El projecte és una contribució real al manteniment del medi-ambient que permet despendre's de tots els motlles socials i culturals actuals, els quals ens allunyen de la nostra connexió amb la natura, per acostar-se a un món menys artificial on les plantes i els animals en són l'essència. We spend 2 weeks with very nice people. Kobus Jerda y Deon . Very passionate , crazy workers, well educated, attentive I liked to feed chickens, cut the grass, water the trees, change the bags of the little trees, put seeds on soil …… and for my husband a lot of handiwork. sometimes it was very hot and the task wasn't so easy . It's 5 hours per day but let your phone onto your bed and you will have a very very nice experience with the nature and totally appreciate what you are doing here.

Many thanks to Kobus, Gerda and Dean for this amazing first volunteering experience! I did things I've never done before and got really in touch with nature and the jungle. You get sweaty and dirty, but it's worth it. Thanks for teaching me a lot of things about trees, plants and the environment. The meals are so nutritional and tasty (especially Gerdas home baked sweets). Highly recommend if you wanna make an sustainable impact :)
