Christ is kind and motivated, and she has amazing projects. She accommodated dietary needs and made tasty healthy meals. However, I felt she was unprepared to have volunteers. She's taken on way too many projects to devote time to us. Half of my stay was spent on a project we hadn't agreed upon before. When we needed anything, like scheduled meals or supplies for the volunteer house, we felt like an inconvenience. Many things from the listing are outdated too. With better organization and an overhauled listing this could be a fulfilling opportunity, but my experience did not live up to that.

Christ has a good heart and is so very passionate about her work for the community. She had many suggestions on what to do in the area and the vegan meals she provided were very tasty! Although I ended the experience a week early, as I felt like I work better with an itinerary and more structured schedule, I wish I could have been able to do more and work on the mural earlier. The pictures of the volunteer apartment and the descriptions (Yoga, Program, Gardening, Activities & Shift) are a bit old, but I think with time the experience for volunteers will improve. I wish Christ the best :)

What can I say, I was hanging out with iguanas and monkeys by the creek. Christ is an absolute beast. This was my first ever and while I have much to say. Im incapable at this time to provide unbiased analysis in any simple format. The host is an amazing person. However, the season along with her schedule cannot be properly described. I would suggest this host to anyone.

Christ was wonderful and very invested in helping her community build sustainable practices from building design and materials to recycling. She was very helpful in navigating buses and travel to/from her place. We didn't get to do all of the volunteer activities I hoped for, but what we did work on was worthwhile. One thing to know is that the town doesn't have a lot to do, so be comfy entertaining yourself or having simple nights with occasional tours or events sprinkled in.

Mi estancia aquí fue una buena forma para mí de descubrir la cultura y la cocina tica con Christ. Christ es una persona ambiciosa con la que se pueden pasar horas hablando de todo y a quien le gusta compartir sus conocimientos y proyectos. Me quedé aquí dos semanas siendo la única voluntaria. Se me hizo un poco largo ya que me tocaron días muy lluviosos. Si quieres pasar horas en el río, desconectar y disfrutar del tiempo descubriendo la cultura local, estarás en el sitio adecuado! El proyecto está pasando por muchos cambios ultimamente. Cualquier duda, puedes contactarme por mp 😉

Mi experiencia como voluntaria fue muy gratificante. Desde el primer día, me sentí bienvenida. Christ es muy amable y acogedora, y la comida que prepara es deliciosa y hecha con mucho cariño. Un aspecto que realmente aprecié fue la flexibilidad con los horarios. Durante mi tiempo allí, nos dedicamos a varias actividades creativas y sostenibles. Trabajamos en la creación de semilleros y maceteros de macramé, siempre utilizando materiales reciclados. También fuimos a ayudar a la finca de otra señora de la comunidad, quien igual fue increíblemente amable y atenta con los voluntarios.

Dos semanas llenas de Biodiversidad y río, los paisajes de Horquetas son bellísimos, se pueden ver muchos animales poco comunes y la comida que proporciona Christ es variada y tradicional, muy rica y nutritiva. Recomendamos vivir la experiencia junto a FCR Learning.

I had a great experience at FCR Learning!! We did different tasks and were able to get to know the town. The people were so nice and it was a peaceful place. Also the food was very good and Christ was very kind. She taught us a lot about her project and many things about Costa Rica which is beautiful. I recommend the experience!

Christ is a great host who is super sweet! She was very accommodating to my digital nomad schedule. She showed me so many new plants which was very rewarding for me. I mainly helped out in her garden, but there are many different tasks you could do. I'm excited to see how this project grows. Pro tip, shower during the hottest part of the day (the water is COLD).

My stay at the community was a great experience to discover the nature of Costa Rica. Christ is really careful, wants to help around her, but maybe it would be even greater if we have more link with her ! (A little shame that we don't eat with her for exemple for the meals…) But when you get to know her, she's so interesting !! About the tasks, it's really not that difficult, maybe the worst is the warm when you work outside, but very nice to know more about permaculture. I stayed for 2 weeks, and was happy to have others volunteers with me, maybe if you are alone it would be a bit more long

Hi! Coline I have to change about eat with the volunteers because I have a different diet for help reason and also I have my schedule for teach on line is hard for me to keep the diet eating with a group because I love eat. Thanls a lots for your help the complete desing is a big process and every part ia great advance, the permaculture start with circular economy for buy materials and the work for the desinf of the FCRStore willbe a huge step, I have a video with that part finished, also with permaculture we needed to prepare the plants for the big mandala will be like 1000 plants 10 difrentes tipes and you helpme with the firts. 2 weeks is few time to see a proces in advance we need normally 6 months in landscaping to see the diference I hope every body can comeback later and see the other part. In permaculture we need patient because the desing is with plants and they need time to grow up, for that reasosn like architect I create like 5 diferent progets in 1 weeks in 6 months I will have 6 diferents projects working while another plants start to grow up. This is the life in the farm I enjoyed spent time with you at least the the time during the projects.
