The manager was understanding and helpful when it came to moving shifts around. The other volunteers were super welcoming and patient when it came to explaining the tasks as it is up to them to train the newcomers. There are videos on how to do each step if you forget anything and the work itself is pretty straightforward. It can get pretty boring so be prepared to watch netflix. The beach is a 2 minute walk away, but rent a scooter to see the rest of the island. The beds squeak alot and the jam and toast get quite monotonous. The surrounding shops don't have much variety and are often expired.

I had a lot of fun working in this hostel. I met some amzing people ! I would recommend to work there for the social aspect :) Even if it was a nice experience, there was some things that I didn't really liked. It is written that we have breakfast included but it is just white toast with jam. I think we could have at least some eggs or milk because at the end, I end up buying myself the breakfast because it wasn't enough. Also the beds weren't the best, they make a lot of noises and there is no curtains.

The experience was really good. During my time there, I learned a lot about hospitality and how to manage a home stay. The hosts and the entire team were very helpful and supportive. They always made sure I understood what I was doing and were there to guide me whenever I had questions. Their kindness and willingness to help made the learning process much easier and more enjoyable for me. Overall, I gained valuable knowledge and felt well-supported throughout the entire experience. Thank you the hostel

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel. The hostel itself is very chill and has a nice, comfortable common area. There is also a kitchen so you have the option of cooking your own meals. You only have to work 4 hours a day with one day off a week so you have plenty of free time to explore the island. Mala and Syed were both always kind, patient and easy to work with. I also met some really amazing people while volunteering here which made the experience even better!

Mala was very nice and helpful. The hostel is very nice and easy to live in. If you are looking for a more social atmosphere this might not be the one for you. The work is easy and overall I enjoyed myself

I enjoyed my time here. It's a cute, peaceful island if you're looking for something quiet. The managers Syed and Mala are soo sweet. Syed would often cook us traditional dinners some nights, which I really appreciated. There's not much to do on the island after a while but the empty beaches and pretty sunsets make up for it:)

My experience at the hostel was unforgettable!! i made amazing friends in this socialable, chilled hostel. i loved having movie nights, games nights etc. the job was pretty easy once you know what to do however there was a big gap in training for some volunteers, i often found myself teaching other volunteers how to do basic tasks such as check ins since they received little to no training just a checklist on the computer! The manager Syed was very kind and looked after the volunteers if we were sick or wanted to book tours etc and even cooked for us sometimes!

I had a great time during my stay! The work is splited in different 4h shifts and you can always arreange it with the other volunteers so you can easily go discover the island. Regarding to Langkawi it got sometimes too chill for me but actually staying in the hostel gives you the opportunity to meet international people to talk with. Also I would say that being lucky to coincide with other nice volunteers (which I did) makes a lot. If I had to say a con it would be that as the hostel work is made mostly by volunteers that come and go it can be messy the first days of volinteering.

We stayed at the hostel for about one week. In this week we worked six days, as you get one day off. It's four hours of work a day, though guests may ask you questions when you're not working. The communication was not great. The tasks and the system were only explained to us by the other volunteers. We did have a great time with those other volunteers and made new friends! When you make a mistake there is not really a good learning environment. We do want to say thank you Amar for all the help and patience :)

The hostel is very cozy. The working hours of 4 hours are respected. The system may seem a bit complicated at first, but it is easy if you are familiar with it. Just try not to make mistakes :) Breakfast consists of toast and jam. I was there for 3 weeks but I think 2 weeks are enough. The island is not really big and therefore it can be a bit boring after a while. Nevertheless, I had a great time with the other volunteers.
