Volunteering at the hostel was such a calm and comfortable first Worldpackers experience. The hostel itself just feels like a big house share where you don't feel you're on top of one another with how spacious it is and everyone staying is so friendly. Mala, (hostel's manager) has the kindest soul and ensures you're looked after for - any queries you have, she's always willing to get them answered to without fail. The tasks listed are reasonable and they respect the 4hr shift duration, so I was never overworked and thanked for the work I completed on the day. Thank you for everything x

I had a lovely time with the hostel. Their organized systems and strict 4-hour shifts left plenty of time for volunteers to explore the island. Mala, the new hostel manager, was a pleasure to work with – calm, competent, and patient in guiding us. Her clear vision for hostel improvement was admirable. Syed, the general manager, is a great cook and having a few insightful conversations with him added to this enriching experience.

Nuestra experiencia en el hostel fue muy buena, se respetaron todos los acuerdos, el ambiente del hostel y del staff/voluntarios fue genial. Mala siempre te recibe con una sonrisa y dispuesta a ayudarte y explicarte lo que haga falta. Syed es muy simpático, se nota que se preocupa por que los voluntarios la pasemos bien, nos preparó comida local, nos consiguio tour con descuentos y compartimos lindas charlas de viajes. Sin duda es una experiencia que recomiendo a otrxs voluntarixs, la van a disfrutar!

La experiencia en el hostel fue genial, nos sentimos muy cómodos y contentos durante nuestra estadía allí. Los horarios y tareas siempre se respetaron, Mala siempre tuvo paciencia y predisposición para enseñarnos y explicarnos lo que teníamos que hacer, ella y Syed son muy tiernos 💜 Él preparó una comida deliciosa para todos y ella nos sorprendió con un desayuno local 🙌🏽 La ubicación es muy buena, pudimos disfrutar muchísimo de la playa, los atardeceres y de pasear por la isla en nuestros días libres! Recomiendo mucho la experiencia y nuevamente, gracias!! 🦋 Raffy🇦🇷

I really enjoyed this volunteering experience! The host was very flexible with the hours which allowed me to explore the island. I also meet alot of great people there. Overall, I had a wonderful time.

During her one week volunteering period, Lara proved to be a delightful addition to the team. She tried to tackle all assigned duties with great enthusiasm. Her willingness to learn and her pleasant personality made her a good volunteer. Lara's sweet demeanor and friendly nature instantly endeared her to both guests and staff. Her ability to connect with guests was exceptional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Though her time was short, Lara's positive impact was significant to the hostel. I've had an amazing experience volunteering at the hostel. The hostel is very nice, with friendly common areas. It feels like a big shared flat, a home away from home. I've met amazing people (both volunteers - with an amazing team - and the guests). According to your shift, you'll do more cleaning tasks (in the morning) or reception responsibilities (afternoon and evening), 4 hours per day with one day off per week. You have bread and jam for breakfast. Thanks to the shared kitchen, you can also cook your own meals. The beach is just 3 minutes walking from the hostel.

My experience at the hostel was perfect. I met a lot of people that made my stay unforgettable. Its a place where we feel like home ! The only thing that could be improved is the fact that there is no staff member. Only volunteers « run » the hostel… Would recommend definitely !!

My experience at the hostel Dormitory was amazing. Abu and the volunteers were super nice! Even with my basic English, after the first few days, I understood well how check-ins worked, and we did a great job on social media, which is easy because the hostel was really good and spacious, perfect for digital nomads! I improved my English a lot and connected with the locals and the amazing life in Langkawi, which I already miss. Thanks to everyone for everything!

This was my first volunteering experience and was an amazing learning & thought provoking experience. Abu and Ammar were very helpful & patient with me and really made me feel very comfortable throughout my stay. I got a chance to meet other fellow volunteers and travellers and got hands on experience on the business aspect of the hostel which was very interesting. The tasks are well defined and its just 4hrs a day and after that you have your free time to explore the island. But I believe the kind of experience one wants totally depends on the person and what you want to take away from it.

The hostel is super cozy and comfortable. We even had some movie nights with the guests. The work is well organized and clearly divided between the volunteers. It takes a little to get used to the booking system but there is a written guide and you can always ask the team. It's more learning by doing so don't feel discouraged when your mistakes get pointed out. The island itself is very nice. A highlight were the fire shows at the beach. We also did a mangrove planting program which was super cool! The hostel is located very centrally and across the street from a night food market.
