I stayed at the alberge for about a little over month and i loved every minute of it! Erika is a great leader, who is always available to help shouldnit be needed. She takes everyones needs and wishes in to consideration, and treats you with respect and like a friend. The place itself is beautifull and calm, and just what i needed after Barcelona. If anything was negative, it is the fact that the guests only stay for one night, so your circle of friends will most likley be more or less limited to the volunteer group, but if you are lucky like me, they are all you need. I recommend this stay!!

Érika is the most hardworking person I have ever met and it shows in the atmosphere of the albergue.The hostel really has a character that is fun, modern and homely(even a little chaotic,which I loved).The entire time I was there I was wanting to contribute to the hostel; not as an obligation, but as a desire to see the hostel's image be maintained and realised as Èrika deserves. I'll miss this place it gave me some really fun and enjoyable moments which I will cherish.Qué tengas mucho éxito tía y hasta la próxima 😁😁.

El hostel La Barquera es un pequeño paraíso anclado en las playas de mar Cantábrico y el albergue se encuentra en un lugar privilegiado de tal paraíso. Érika la anfitriona es la persona más carismática y sociable que vas a conocer en la vida, su buena disposición siempre es contagiosa igual que su sonrisa constante. En cuanto al albergue es un sitio cómodo, tranquilo con tareas sencillas fáciles de realizar y te queda el día para dar paseaos y descubrir cada rincón de esa maravilla de lugar.

In the hostel you will work with up to five other volunteers. Mostly native Spanish speakers, so advanced Spanish knowledge makes it easier to communicate with the others. Erika only has limited English skills and lack of interest to try to communicate with you in English. The work is between 2,5 and 3 hours six days a week and is easy to manage. You will have a shared room with one other volunteer. The rooms are small and only the one next to the reception has a window. Because of that the other rooms have mold, so you stuff can easily get mold to. The beach is a 30min walk.

Hola Klara! He optado por no evaluarte ya que tú paso por el albergue ha sido diferente. La comunicación ha sido nula, ya que en ningún momento hubo intención por tu parte de crear equipo, básico en un albergue: ser sociable y abierto. Gracias

Erika is running a second hostel at the same time, so she is not around much. The breakfast consists of toast, oats, marmelade, juice, coffee, milk, fresh cheese. There are two surfboards and one wetsuit at the hostel. The beach is half an hour by foot. Geeting to know all the pilgrims is really interesting, who are nearly all of the guests. The guests are mostly older people (average 40). The hostel has sufficient space (common area, garden) to find a calm place and has a quite relaxed atmosphere. San Vicente is a small town but has several supermarkets, restaurants etc. Beautiful nature!

El hostel es el sitio perfecto dónde conocer, desde un entorno privilegiado, gente de diferentes lugares mientra te conoces a ti mismo. Por lo que la experiencia te aporta un crecimiento personal y social muy interesante

My experience was great, well adjusted schedules, interesting tasks, I highly recommend it. It was a great interaction with the volunteers too, learned a lot. Loved every day in the hostel. Hasta un dia :)

Este Voluntariado fue maravilloso, ayudar en un albergue y hacerme parte de este proyecto ha sido muy significativo en calidad humana, conectar con peregrino de todas partes del mundo, aprender de ellos o simplemente poder hacer su estadia mas confortable. Por otro lado encontré personas increíbles, fuimos un equipo y FAMILIA, con el resto de los voluntarios. Erika también fue muy amable conmigo, estando atenta a todo y permitiéndome conocer mas acerca de Cantabria. el hostel es hermoso, me llevo lo mejor de este lugar.

Esta experiencia ha sido la mejor que he tenido en voluntariados! Erika es una persona muy amable, cariñosa, positiva y amistosa. El equipo con el que estuve fue la combinacion perfecta de amigos y los extrañaré a todos mucho ya que me hicieron sentir muy bien en todo tiempo y como familia. el hostel la Barquera es hermoso en todos lados y el alrededor tiene mucho que ofrecer para los exploradores. Trabajar con peregrinos fue estupendo ya que conoces personas de alrededor del mundo con muchas culturas y estilos de vidas distintos de los cuales puedes aprender. SanVi Club🤙❤

I had a wonderful time at the hostel. Erika and Monica are wonderful and warm people and the other volunteers were super fun. The work, which consisted of either cleaning or reception, is very easy to learn and not difficult. the hostel is a lovely little town with lots of restaurants and cafes, and the beach is beautiful. There are bus connections to the nearest cities, although having your own car is an advantage. It was the perfect place for my first voluntary work and I highly recommend it.
