While spending more than a month in the hostel, I improved my Spanish, got to know many great people and had a chance to travel all across Cantabria. Erika, the owner, is very sympathetic and the hostel is located in a small yet beautiful town. Your job will mostly consist of cleaning, sometimes helping at the reception, with enough free time to discover the charm of the north of Spain, surf and make memories for life, I wholeheartedly recommend! :) ❤️

Mi experiencia en el Hostel fue hermosa!! Erika es una persona muy linda con una buena energía, el Hostel muy bien organizado y limpio. las tareas están divididas equitativamente y la localización es hermosa. Compartir con otras chicas el voluntariado y me fui con el corazón lleno de mucho cariño que recibí.

Recomiendo al 100% este voluntariado, san Vicente es el lugar perfecto si quieres desconectarte un poco y conocer gente de varios lugares, en el Hostel conocerás a personas de diferentes países, los voluntarios pasan a ser parte de tu familia, se forman lindos lazos de amistad y Erika fue la mejor anfitriona que pude tener en esta linda experiencia, siempre se preocupaba en que todos estuviésemos bien y que no nos faltara nada 💕✨

Realizar este voluntariado fue una experiencia que siempre recordare con cariño, fue mi primer voluntariado y Erika, la anfitriona, nos hizo sentir como en casa, siempre estaba pendiente en que nos podia ayudar o enseñar, también conocí otros voluntarios con los que pude crear una bonita amistad, recomiendo este voluntariado :)

Es una experiencia que recomiendo al 200% , el hostel se encuentra en un lugar idílico para hacer rutas por los acantilados, playas y senderos verdes. Las tareas son sencillas y el ambiente entre los voluntarios ha sido simplemente perfecto, Erika es un encanto de persona y te ayudará con lo que necesites. En conclusión, solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento por todo lo bueno que me ha aportado este rinconcito de Cantabria

I stayed at the alberge for about a little over month and i loved every minute of it! Erika is a great leader, who is always available to help shouldnit be needed. She takes everyones needs and wishes in to consideration, and treats you with respect and like a friend. The place itself is beautifull and calm, and just what i needed after Barcelona. If anything was negative, it is the fact that the guests only stay for one night, so your circle of friends will most likley be more or less limited to the volunteer group, but if you are lucky like me, they are all you need. I recommend this stay!!

Érika is the most hardworking person I have ever met and it shows in the atmosphere of the albergue.The hostel really has a character that is fun, modern and homely(even a little chaotic,which I loved).The entire time I was there I was wanting to contribute to the hostel; not as an obligation, but as a desire to see the hostel's image be maintained and realised as Èrika deserves. I'll miss this place it gave me some really fun and enjoyable moments which I will cherish.Qué tengas mucho éxito tía y hasta la próxima 😁😁.

El hostel La Barquera es un pequeño paraíso anclado en las playas de mar Cantábrico y el albergue se encuentra en un lugar privilegiado de tal paraíso. Érika la anfitriona es la persona más carismática y sociable que vas a conocer en la vida, su buena disposición siempre es contagiosa igual que su sonrisa constante. En cuanto al albergue es un sitio cómodo, tranquilo con tareas sencillas fáciles de realizar y te queda el día para dar paseaos y descubrir cada rincón de esa maravilla de lugar.

In the hostel you will work with up to five other volunteers. Mostly native Spanish speakers, so advanced Spanish knowledge makes it easier to communicate with the others. Erika only has limited English skills and lack of interest to try to communicate with you in English. The work is between 2,5 and 3 hours six days a week and is easy to manage. You will have a shared room with one other volunteer. The rooms are small and only the one next to the reception has a window. Because of that the other rooms have mold, so you stuff can easily get mold to. The beach is a 30min walk.
