Had an awesome time at the hostel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very good because it is right next to the hostel. The beds you sleep on are pretty comfortable. Stone is a very cool person and he runs the hostel well. And the work you do for the hostel isn't too hard. Overall my experience was excellent!

My experience with the hostel was great. The people were very nice and helpful. There was a bit of a language barrier but nothing Google translate couldn't solve! The tasks were manageable. The schedule was considerate. The location was central. I was able to explore the area and feel like a local. It was safe and clean. I'd definitely come back if I had the chance to do so! Thank you to Tim, Nancy, Carol and Stone. ✨

Firstly, all the workers here are so kind and happy to help always! Stone can't speak English, never the less he would always try to help me out and reward us with an energy drink every now and then lol :) The work is repetitive as you are house keeping but not bad and often can complete it in less than 5 hours. You're in the middle of Taipei so it's a really great location! Would recommend if you want to explore a new city on a budget :)

Stone was such a kind and chill host. The people who work at the hostels were all great as well. Stone doesn't speak English, so you'll be guided by the people who work at the hostel like Tim, James, Neil, and Momo. There are two hostels you could be assigned to: the hostel or National Taiwan University. I was assigned to the NTU branch, which is bigger, but the work is manageable in 5 hours or less. Depending on the length of your stay, the work can be paid. I stayed 2 weeks and was paid 176 NTD per hour, and 2 hours went to covering my stay. I would definitely come back again.

I was at the hostel for 3 weeks, great location and it was mostly good thanks to two of the volunteers, the third didn't speak to anyone.I was assigned NTU branch which was an hour+ unpaid round trip, only working for 2-3 hours so there was a LOT of free time. The work was paid which was nice but considering it's from the third hour don't expect much. The work was very tiring because the full time staff don't help much so you'll do most of the work alone and they don't speak English well. It was only cleaning and changing sheets, there's no reception work. The free breakfast was fine but not much

I spent three weeks at the hostel and it was overall a good experience, especially thanks to the other volunteers (from the second week, I was alone for the whole first week) Location (Beimen) is perfect and the hostel is modern and clean but I worked at the other branch (commute 40 minutes one-way) and the hygene conditions there are NOT the same and the Beimen one (not a problem as non clients but be aware) Work was less than expected (~3h day) and you get paid from the 3rd hour! :) I was given a small private room instead of a dorm bed! (No party promoting, reception or chinese lessons)

This volunteer was a unique experience. First of all the work is just housekeeping, from changing the sheets to cleaning the bathrooms and floors. Though you will be working mostly by yourself or one other volunteer, work hours would be within 3 hours. I did have quite a lot of miscommunication so apart from being able to speak English, knowing Chinese may help. There would be days where no staff was present until the afternoon as well. I also got my schedule after having to ask several times. This may be good for those that are okay with doing housekeeping and can speak up.
