Host is very rude no concerned and treats as workers , I did not find any breakfast and volunteering posted in world packers is different than what is made to be done. Very bad, There was one more volunteer other than me who stayed there just with no option for finding alternatives, Working place is 1.5 to 2 kms Far. they will pickup in the morning at 10 and work is till 15 O'Clock. you should not use your phone while working( Arrogant instruction). you will not be dropped back but you have to walk back on your own. Breakfast given is all leftovers from the hotel guests.

The workload was usually less than 4 hours and once I learned it, it was pretty easy. I also made friends to explore Algarve together and it was a great experience! The cleanliness of the place really depends on how much we take care of it ourselves.

I really enjoyed my stay in Alvor! The work can be hard sometimes, but it is really nice to get to explore the small city and its beautiful beaches and nature after work. Also living with the other voulenteers and spending time together after work really made the experience for me! When I was there we were only three voulenteers at first and when I left we were five. I think it depends on the season how many voulenteers there will be, but maximum 10 as I understood.

Overall, my stay in Alvor was a truly memorable experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the community of volunteers – where ten of us were living together, sharing meals, conversations, hikes, beach days, laughter, and many unforgettable moments. The work side was less positive for me. Christina, the host, is very strict and direct in her communication, which at times felt discouraginge and personal. Although I completed my tasks properly, I often felt like my effort were not enough. That said, other volunteers had good experiences with her, so it may have been a matter of compatibility.

Christina was kind and welcoming, and the work itself was not too difficult. I really appreciated her parting gift and thoughtfulness. The main downside for me was breakfast — it was listed as included, but we weren't allowed to join the guest buffet. Instead we had to piece together what was in the kitchen, often very rushed. I think it would help a lot if volunteers could share in the buffet and have a clear 15 minutes set aside for a proper breakfast/coffee before starting cleaning, so we can keep our energy up. Also, for directions, make sure to use the exact coordinates.

Alvor is a beautiful and quiet place, there are many wonderful beaches near the town that are accessible by a short uber ride . About the program I have to say that the facilities are better than the pictures and the hosts are generally very welcoming and assisting . However, a should add that the hours of work are on average 4-5h and are task and not time oriented which depending on the number of volunteers means that you might have to work over five hours. The shifts start either at 8am or at 10am depending on your post and their duration may be different for each volunteer.

Alvor es un pueblo acogedor, su playa es de las más increibles que he podido visitar, las tareas se hacen en el horario que se acuerda. Cristina y Joaquín me han tratado bien desde mi llegada hasta mi salida. Volvería después :)

Cristina and Fabio were very kind hosts and it is clear that Cristina loves the guesthouse and wants to provide a lovely experience for the guests and the volunteers. However, the accommodations provided were a bit dirty and the work at the guesthouse often went later than 1pm which was the agreed upon end time.

I had high hopes for the experience considering the amazing reviews but it did not meet expectations of what is said in the listing. Hours were not always respected and I had to work 8am-1pm everyday while other volunteers only worked 10am-1pm. Cristina is nice and has good intention but is always in save mode; she just has a lot on her plate. Breakfast is not always consistent for some volunteers depending on your job for the day. The town is very small with not much to do but very beautiful beaches! Comfortable living quarters, and pretty clean.
