Urban Pop Hostel & BnB

A hostel is a perfect place to meet people from all around the world, so it could be a great cultural and linguistic experience! We can also teach him/her Italian language and culture while we work and live together, and give very good Italian cooking advice!

Our hostel is run by a family and our team is made of very nice and friendly people! It would be a pleasure for us to host someone and make him/her feel part of the family!

The work and hours were ok. Other than if you had a cleaning shift then the afternoon reception shift, that ment you were working almost all day. I would recommend to know a bit of Italian or Spanish, it would be very beneficial with the guests and in Sicily. I loved Catania, the people here are very friendly and nice.

We explained everything before confirming anything, the hours were explained in details and there was no surprises, as other volunteers have mentioned in their reviews the agreed hours are always respected and the job is laid out very clearly before your arrival, the full job description (including hours, number of shifts, type of the job and even house rules) is the first thing you receive from us after applying.

I absolutely loved my time at UrbanPop! Salvo is absolutely wonderful and everything was just as I expected. This opportunity does require a decent amount of work, but I found it to be fair and it was very clear from the start exactly what I should expect. The hostel is clean, in a great location close to beaches and fun nightlife, and felt safe. Guests are generally older, but that was not a problem for me since I was working with other volunteers my age. Thank you so much Salvo and Reza for a great experience- I'll be back soon! :)

Volunteering at UrbanPop Hostel was such an unforgettable experience! The hosts were genuine, nice and fun people who made sure my stay was enjoyable from the start. The workload is more than reasonable and well communicated beforehand. The atmosphere is super chill and open, and I got to meet people from all over the world. Catania is perfect for exploring the vibrant local culture and other parts of Sicily too. I’m super grateful for this experience and will leave UrbanPop with the most amazing memories and new friendships!<3

I had the best time ever at the hostel!! I met a lot of people from different countries, got to know the culture and made the best memories ever. I truly recommend coming to this place. The owner, Salvo and the manager, Reza were the best hosts I could’ve imagined. The working hours were fair and everything worked out as explained. The volunteers are being respected, the hostel is lovely and the guests were respectful as well.
This, as my first volunteer experience, was the best experience I could’ve wished for.

I had the best time, other volunteers and managers were so lovely and made the experience great. There was a fair bit of work, but it was all outlined beforehand and the hours were respected. Overall would definitely recommend the experience 😊
