My time with tipi English was overall alright.
The host was accommodating when I had a visa issue entering Vietnam, which was really thoughtful. The hostel we stay at is relatively nice, in a local area away from the touristy area by the beach, so perfect location if you want to experience more authentic da Nang.
The classes were good. The cafe talks can get very crowded sometimes and it can be challenging to try and engage that many adults and kids, between only 2-3 volunteers. The classroom itself is okay, above a restaurant.
Overall, I enjoyed this stay for the people I met.

I enjoyed my time at TIPI! The host and other staff were very welcoming and helpful. I did not get the opportunity to talk and hear directly from the management, but the ones who attended to my queries were all very accommodating. I learned a lot from the life stories and views of the locals I met. We had speaking sessions about life, business, travel, health, economics, and world concerns! I got to share with them my knowledge and perspective.

It was lovely to volunteer at Tipi, all the teachers and students were very friendly and welcoming. Lessons are every evening and you’re told what you will do on the spot so it’s best to be ready to adapt quickly. Overall I’m very grateful for the community and everyone I met ❤️

It was very engaging and I had a great time meeting locals. I got to meet many different people of different age groups. The students were really respectful and were easy to teach!

First of all, the most important thing for me was teaching some English and I can say that the students were really eager to learn and talk. I enjoyed the interaction with them and the teaching assistants a lot!

The overall experience was flawed by a certain lack of organisation. I was never told the topic of the upcoming lesson and therefore couldn't prepare. There was no interaction apart from the lessons. It made me feel like I was more of a resource than a volunteer. The accommodation was also not free but they paid 50% of it. I didn't like the hotel much so I changed to a different one
