Shieldaig

It is peaceful, beautiful and very happy. It is located in one of the most beautiful places in Wales. There are masses of wonderful walks and no large cities or major shopping areas. It is 2 miles from the beach which is often visited by dolphins and porpoises.

I live alone with a cleaner visiting once a week. i give all volunteers the freedom to do whatever they want but expect a positive involvement in community life.

I stayed in Shieldaig for Christmas and New Year's Eve and Hywel was such an incredible host he made me feel at home and I didn't miss my family. He is a wonderful cook and a very interesting person to talk with. His dogs are super friendly and very well trained, I really enjoyed my walks with them. Shieldaig is a very nice and quiet place surrounded by nature, with a wonderful view on the Preseli Hills. The seaside is quite near and reachable on foot, if you love walking. There are many walking tracks and you can easily reach the Wales Coastal Path. I definitely recommend this experience!

I was immersed in nature for 2 weeks, Nevern is very pretty and the trekking to get to Newport offers beautiful views. Recommended experience!

We had a good time in Nevern! Hywel is very generous and give great advice for visit the surrendings and to hiking in amazing places. The house is in a very peaceful position and the landscapes are spectacular. The working hours are more than respected and he is very flexible. We also liked his film choices! We thank Hywel for the time we spend togheter.

I absolutely loved my experience her so much that I came back and plan to again! Hywel is an excellent cook and food is plentiful, the property is absolutely beautiful and Hywel knows everything you can imagine about the local culture and history here. The working hours are respected and he is happy to accommodate requests and scheduling. He will even take you on local tours. Awesome!
