Serenity
We are 15min to Coolum beach, 25m to Noosa, surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, swimming holes & markets. We have 2.5 acres with fruit trees, veggies, animals, & we are building Dome Art Studio so you’re here for that you will learn a lot about this type of housing. We are always planting food as well and love sharing ideas about sustainable living
We have people all year round so please reach out & we may have some dates for you! Unfortunately the app doesn’t have an alert 🔔 but we will be as quick as we can to reply-we use What’s app. for this reason so leave a number in your msg. We prefer a minimum of 2 weeks stay & intermediate English or above and to be fit & able for physical hobby farm jobs. Volunteers are provided with beautiful food but must cook themselves. The property is ‘modern style’ private home, quiet, relaxed, friendly & fun, run be people into natural health. Our lifestyle is fun fit & healthy. I am a PE teacher & Naturopath taking some leave to complete projects on the property. You cook your own food which is provided. The hours are S-Th, 5 hrs with Fri & Sat free. We are a small 2.5 acre hobby farm & you will most likely be working independently We only have 1-2 positions at a time We value independently capable people Food is provided and you cook your own meals Public transport connects you to the region and in some instances we can connect you. We encourage you to look up farm life in Australia to familiarise yourself. Positions run on and off all year so we encourage you to reach out if this sounds like you! The experience was not quite what I expected.. so here is a pro and cons list for my fellow volunteers
Pros:
- right in nature
- modern property with single bedroom
- animal care is very interesting
-Bev( Alina’s mom) is a very nice lady and it was great talking to her
Cons:
-pick up only from Yandina
-in the middle of nowhere( Alina isn’t there most of the time so you are basically stuck on the property)
- very hard physical labor you have to do in the sun
- grocery supply is not that great( you mostly get frozen stuff and veggies)
- communication can be improved

I had an excellent time staying with alina and Bev, they where awesome hosts and kept me fed, comfortable and they where very friendly and welcoming, this is an amazing opportunity for you if you’re looking to experience the Sunshine Coast and to learn lots from your hosts, couldn’t recommend them enough :)

I had a nice time staying at Serenity. The tasks were mostly related to gardening, such as weeding and mulching, and my daily responsibility was to take care of the chickens in the mornings. Alina is a nice host, she’s very flexible with the working schedule and always helped me when I needed a lift to and from Yandina. The house is modern, and it’s a stunning property altogether. Bev is a wonderful lady who kept me company and was always down for a chat. Overall, it was a nice experience. Oh, and the food provided was good. Alina listened to my needs and bought good-quality groceries.

The main job is to weed, all day on the floor with a lot of sun, the sheets were stained with pee, most of the food they give you is expired, even from the year 2021, you have to constantly insist that you have no food left and when they give you something it is something else expired, they made me make a list of what I wanted from the supermarket but I still don't buy any of that, also the room had spider webs just like the Pantry,. Is necessary to have your own transport. I felt humiliated the truth of working so hard not even to receive food in good condition.

I’m terribly sorry you felt that way! This is the first and only bad review in the entire period of 2yrs, hosting our wonderful volunteers around the world It’s a shame no complaint whatsoever ever was made during your stay and if substantiated, something could have been done. I do not believe your comment on the linen is correct at all & a total exaggeration everywhere else but it does explain your unfriendly & rude demeanour.

I recommend this destination to anyone willing and ready to work hard and complete large tasks on the farm! The surrounding land is beautiful and the home itself is very modern. The projects were assigned based on ability so be honest with what you can/can't do and Alina will find something that fits those parameters. I would highly recommend some personal transportation as the closest bus stop is a 45-minute walk away. Alina is willing and can take you places but just like everyone else she has things going on and won't be available 24/7. We rented a moped from Scootermania in Noosa!
