Manena Hostel

We are the 1st youth hostel in Genova historical center (Unesco site since 2006). Our tiny hostel really encourages our guests to go through this amazing location also organizing walking tours and giving great advices about the best bars and restaurants.

We're all easygoing guys, we always like to build strong and reliable relations with all our volunteers. We're used to be fair and sincere, so that we can really trust each other.

Hostel Manena is a great opportunity for anyone interested to volunteer at a hostel. The owners and staff are really great people and the work is not difficult. You have a lot of free time to do as you wish and You gain great knowledge about how a hostel operates at one of the most laid-back hostels on the website. Genoa is a beautiful city not only for the history and food but also for the people and surrounding nature. It’s still a hidden gem in my eyes and is a must see on your travels. Don’t hesitate to apply to this wonderful opportunity :)

Everything was amazing! The hosts were very helpful and friendly in every way. Since the hostel had a high circulation of guests, I had the chance to meet many new people. I was responsible for cleaning, housekeeping, and reception, but none of these tasks were difficult, and there was always someone to guide me. I even extended my stay for another week, and if I didn’t have other plans, I would have stayed longer. The hostel is easy to reach, the location is great, and the city itself is beautiful. I honestly can’t find any downside, I definitely recommend it! :)

Muchas gracias Manena Hostel y Victoria House por abrirme las puertas de sus hermosos espacios, llenos de colores y buena energía 💪 Las instalaciones son bellísimas! Pase una estadía completamente recomendable, las actividades son faciles de llevar, los training muy sencillos y lo mejor de todo es que tenés mucho tiempo para conocer la ciudad que es alucinante! Siendo mi primer viaje en Italia como voluntaria, me hicieron sentir como en casa 🫶

I enjoyed my month in Genova in Ostellin very much, time has passed so quickly. Because it's a relatively small hostel, it feels more intimate and very cozy, which I liked. On the other hand, thanks to the connection to the other two hostels, there's always something going on, depends on what you feel like. If you don't have any previous experience, you might find the reception shift a little overwhelming at first, however, you'll get used to it quickly and you can always ask, which made it easier for me! Staff was very nice and makes you feel welcome!
