Lombok Homestay Association
Our place is in the middle of the beautiful island of Lombok with beautiful beaches and the enchanting Mount Rinjani. We have a community that strives to improve the education, social and economic of the community. Therefore we accept volunteers who want to help us and exchange knowledge and experience
I 'm and my community so happy to give anyone information and discuss abour cultural exchange. We always try to increase hospitality and servicing to accept the guest

If you want to experience the best volunteering experience of your life, i highly recommend this place. From the second i walked in, i felt like part of the family. These people truly care about their volunteers, and their always organizing activities for them. During my first week i got to experience a local wedding, snorkling in the gili islands, strawberry picking in Sambaloen, endless of farewells for the leaving volunteers, swimming in a waterfall, pottery class. Special thanks to my hosts Mala and Nopy and to the big boss Mr Ahyak.

Mr Ahyak and the community and Lombok Homestay Association have welcomed me with open arms! I truly loved my stay and teaching the kids was amazing, they are all very eager to learn. You can choose what you will do as a volunteer but I would highly recommend doing the english teaching as this really is what helps them the most. Lombok Homestay association is truly a special place to volunteer at. The community is welcoming, within your time (no matter how short) you will become family. Mr Ahyak’s commitment to his community is outstanding and the opportunities to contribute to the locals are endless- you’ll have the opportunity to teach for a few hours a day but also do so much more (visits to other local communities nearby, learning traditional processes like weaving/coffee and coconut oil processing, waterfall visits, Gili island trip) that enriches the entire stay. It was the best decision I’ve made!

Volunteering in the community was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I’m incredibly grateful for the four weeks I was able to spend here. The community is extremely welcoming, warm, and kind, and you truly get the chance to immerse yourself in local life. Attending a traditional wedding and a celebration for a newborn were just some of the unforgettable experiences I had. Teaching here was deeply rewarding, as education is truly valued by everyone. I will never forget this month, and I would highly recommend volunteering here to anyone.

Truly the most beautiful volunteering experience I’ve had! You’re immediately welcomed into the community and looked after in every way possible. I’m truly moved by the kindness and generosity of everyone there. You are immersed in their culture in ways you wouldn’t have access to otherwise and Mr Ahyak always ensured that everyone felt comfortable. I couldn’t recommend this place more, thank you so much.
