Live like a local in Cusco: Pet care in the city or cultural connection in the countryside

We offer two meaningful volunteer opportunities in the Cusco region — each one unique in its own way.

🌿 Our home in Saylla is a peaceful space for cultural connection. Volunteers have the chance to live with my 74-year-old mother, a wise, generous, and curious woman who loves learning about other cultures and sharing her life stories from the Peruvian Andes. This is not a business or a hostel — it's a family home where respect, collaboration, and meaningful conversations are part of daily life. Saylla is surrounded by nature and tranquility, yet close enough to Cusco to explore the city in your free time.

🐾 In downtown Cusco, we also offer a cat-sitting opportunity at our appartment where my sister lives. She works in the field of holistic spiritual healing and often needs to attend retreats or travel for her practice. During those times, her two beloved cats are left without company, and we look for responsible, independent volunteers to stay with them. Our cozy apartment is located just 10 minutes from San Pedro Market, in the heart of the city. This experience is perfect for quiet animal lovers looking for a calm space and a base to enjoy Cusco while caring for animals.

My name is Roxana, and I currently live in Europe for work. I created these experiences to support my family and open our doors to volunteers from around the world. My mom lives in Saylla with my godson César and our three dogs — Cocos, Negra, and Blanca. She’s very welcoming, loves to chat, and enjoys learning new recipes and skills. César helps with daily tasks, and I’m always available via WhatsApp or video call to make sure everything runs smoothly. We treat volunteers with respect, care, and trust — and we ask the same in return: a positive, open, and collaborative attitude.
