La Muñequita Farm & Lodge

We have had over 30 volunteers with us so far. They loved to become part of our family: eating together, working together and laughing together. Our lodge guests give us similar feedback!

Important note: We prefer volunteers that can stay at least one month. Please feel free to reach out either way, but we will give priority to those that can stay longer!

Respect and trust is really important for us. First comes respect and after time we can build more and more trust, which makes your experience even better.

Wir waren als Paar 10 Tage in der lodge und haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Wir haben uns morgens zuerst um die Ziegen gekümmert und danach an Projekten gearbeitet, die dort anfallen und immer verschieden sein können. Es war sehr abwechslungsreich. Wir wurden in den Alltag einbezogen und haben auch zusammen Ausflüge gemacht. Wir hatten richtig viel Spaß und haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen! Die lodge ist so schön, man kann dort alle möglichen Pflanzen und Tiere entdecken und man kann viel von den Gastgebern lernen in allen möglichen Bereichen! Wir können es absolut empfehlen! Es war toll!

It was a truly wonderful experience. The whole family is incredibly caring, loving, and genuinely welcoming, which made me feel at home from the very first moment. The food was delicious and prepared with so much attention to detail. On top of that, the place itself is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm. I can only recommend staying here. It exceeded all my expectations. I will definitely come back!

Don Heyner y La Muñequita son maravillosos, y su familia también. Me acogieron como a una más, una pena muy grande que terminase mi estancia, pero me quedo con todo lo vivido y todo el aprendizaje y el amor que me llevo, tanto de su familia, como el de las compañeras tan lindas que tuve. Desayunar viendo a colibríes, comer viendo a monos Tití o cenar viendo libélulas. En mi caso fue todo espléndido, la muñequita cocina super rico, Don Heyner fue super amable y divertido, su familia igual, y las compañeras tan hermosas que tuve… . Ojalá podáis vivir esta experiencia tan linda.

Mi tiempo en la Muñequita fue una verdadera experiencia estupenda, nada más llegar te hacen sentir como en casa.
Buscaba conocer la cultura y las tradiciones ticas y lo conseguí.
Aprendí temas relacionados con la agricultura, la ganadería y la construcción.
El entorno es realmente selvático.
La cocina tradicional la elaboran con mucho cariño y cuentan con muchas frutas y verduras de la propia finca.
Recomiendo una estancia con esta gran familia.
Os deseo lo mejor y PURA VIDA🤙🏽
Me llevo buenos amigos y estoy seguro que regresaré.

I stayed at Muñequita Lodge for one month. Heyner and his whole family was really welcoming and friendly even before I arrived. If you stay here you will be surrounded by nature 24/7 it is an amazing experience. Working hours where always respected and everyone was expressing their thankfulness, so I really felt appreciated for the work I was putting in. Two things to be aware of: you need some basic Spanish knowledge to make your stay easier, also some of the everyday tasks can be challenging in terms of physical strength. I had no problem with this at all, just be aware. Loved my time there!
