House in San Giovanni

Is one of the most legendary house of the east side of Naples. A huge community of friends and artist and travellers stay in this house from 2006. Is full of good vibes and love.and is one of "the house" of Bus Theater an incredibile traveling performing art project . Ah yes ..there is one of the best view of the sea and the Vesuvio.....

We'd like to start a new project, transforming one of our apartments into a permanent art residency. This will help support our cultural center for travelling arts (Macadam), being able to host artists and small companies. At the moment, we are interested to host worldpackers who have good manual skills and ideas on how to handle a renovation, make the best use of the space and, thus nurturing our creative community.

Illaria was a good host. The house was a little run down with a few things that were broken in a slightly ghetto part of town. The work was different than described, more so extra help with events that they ran and the hours were based on how many events there were in a particular week but never exceeded the listed hours. It was an interesting experience of Napoli life

Mi experiencia en la casa de Ilaria fue muy positiva. Tanto Ilaria, como Chris y Pimenta fueron personas amables y respetuosas. Las tareas del voluntariado fueron amenas y tuve mucho tiempo para conocer la ciudad de Nápoles y sus costumbres, aprendí mucho sobre la cultura local y me sentí como una habitante más. Gracias por la experiencia, me llevo un gran recuerdo.

This is my first worldpackers experience but i think it will always be my favorite. Ilaria is a wonderful human and it’s inspiring to see her bring art to her community. The job is fun and easy, and the schedule is flexible. I felt at home and loved spending time on the balcony that overlooks Mt Vesuvius. I had wonderful conversation with everyone living and visiting at the house. The city of Napoli might not be for everyone, but i enjoyed it and am happy to have learned so much about its history, and there’s lots to do on days off. I hope to come back again in the future!

i loved my experience in san giovanni! i volunteered during the off season of the art/theater program so my experience was not as busy as it typically is but i had a wonderful time. ilaria is the best and made me feel so welcomed at at home! the neighborhood is not in a touristic part of napoli but it made it a more unique and authentic way to see napoli. san giovanni and napoli will always have a place in my heart!
