We think that our hostel, with our current image has a lot to offer to young people and we think that Sarajevo is an awesome and interesting city with a lot of history.

We are looking for volunteers who would be happy to work in a amazing hostel with amazing people and lot of interesting guests from all around the world in the center of Sarajevo.

This was a great experience! I highly recommend to fellow travelers who want to socialize in a relaxed environment and explore an extremely interesting city. Unkas cares a lot about his volunteers and always makes sure everyone is happy. He is very easy to talk to and is super flexible. The workload is very manageable and is rotated a bit so it’s quite fair. The bar shifts are of course the most fun. The volunteers stay in an apartment a block away which is very spacious and has a beautiful view from the terrace. Overall I really enjoyed my time there and I would love to come back!

The city is full of history and culture, people are super friendly and do everything to ensure you have an amazing experience in Sarajevo, and the whole country !!

I had a great time at Balkan Han.. the work is chill (most of the times 😂 when it's busy, it can be more of a rush, but it's still super fine) and the hours are too.. the hostel vibe is great, I met some amazing people while I was there and the whole team is incredible. Thank you Unkas, Edin, Neven and Meri, for all the attention and care.. also, the other two volunteers with whom I shared my time !!!

Had a good time at Hostel Balkan Han. The team are mostly kind and respectful and none of the work was difficult. The facilities are good and there was plenty of opportunity to meet people and hang out with guests. The reception system is quite outdated but you do get your head around it eventually. Also the schedule is usually only arranged the night before so it could be difficult to plan things in advance. Overall I had a good time though and I would go back.

Volunteering at Hostel Balkan Han was a wonderful experience. Unkas is a kind and dependable person who always provided us with the shift schedule in advance. The tasks were simple, including check-ins, making beds, cleaning, and occasionally assisting with repairs at the hostel. The team was fantastic, friendly, and always offered helpful tips about Sarajevo. The city itself is beautiful, full of history, and home to very warm and welcoming people. The hostel is also great, offering many amenities such as a lovely courtyard and a comfortable living room. Overall, I highly recommend it.

I had a fantastic experience in Balkan Han. The shifts were pretty easy, the owner and Edin were very kind with me and during my volunteering I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people very interesting. Sarajevo is a lovely city with a lot history and local people were wonderful. Highly recommended.
