I’m 57 male living with my wife (Anu) and have 2 grown up children Samantha/Brandon) , I have a engineering business and also renovating a cheese factory that closed down in the late 1970’s. The friendly and patient staff( one of whom is indigenous, learne some culture as well)are great at teaching new skills and maintaining a respectful and homely environment. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the locals and local community sport(Australian rules football).Plus, benefit from the convenience of a loan work vehicle. This is more than just accommodation; it’s a chance to grow, connect, and truly feel at home.

I had a fantastic timee for the five weeks I was there. The experience is exactly as described. We worked hard 3 days a week and enjoyed 4 days to explore the local area and relax. I took several day trips and weekends trips to national parks and beaches. It's breathtakingly beautiful and I saw a LOT of wildlif (kangaroo, koalas, wallaby, emu, etc). There's work for just about anyone, experienced or not. You become a part of the family. The hosts are welcoming and generous.

Wonderful first Worldpacker’s experience! Michael spoiled me for sure. Working hours are three days a week and we work hard. I learned to use several tools and got the feel of working in construction. Several other Worldpackers have stayed here and sometimes visit! It was nice to meet others with a shared experience. Each guest also has their own room. Some days can be long but having four off days is worth it as you can explore anywhere you’d like. At the end of these hard days it’s always nice to have Anu’s home cooked Tea!

I stayed for two months longer right after my first month volunteering here with Michael and family. I am happy to be a part of the community. I have learned a lot about renovation, a great place for anyone to volunteer.

I stayed for two months with Michael and Anu and they are an amazing family to live with. They make you feel apart of the family right away. They are both extremely hard workers and Anu is also an amazing cook. Working at the factory is a great opportunity to learn about construction and it taught me a lot of good skills that I’ll hopefully use one day. I was able to get a job while staying with them so I could make some money at the same time which was nice. They are very gracious and giving people that welcome everyone! It’s a great opportunity to volunteer here.

Fantastic experience with Michael & family. Michael is passionate about the cheese factory and I learn a lot from him. Anu cooks the best meal, I feel comfortable at this place.
Definitely recommended, lovely host family and community.
