Our guest house is located in a picturesque village in the Austrian alps, right next to one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria. During the summer period, there are a lot of activities you can do such as many water sports (paddle boarding, kayaking etc.), hiking in the mountain, climbing, cycling and so many more. If you would love to connect with nature and relax, this can be the perfect place for you!

We are a family owned guest house located in the beautiful Austrian alps that has been hosting volunteers since already longer than a year. My family and I are very warm hearted and love meeting new people, getting to know them and learning about their culture!

I miss Haus Kärnten already! I stayed over the holidays with Marie‘s parents and it was such a great experience. The work hours were as expected and usually less as there were times when it was just their family and friends in the house. I got to share the space with another volunteer and we were able to do plenty in the afternoon. There are some nice walks in the surrounding mountains with amazing viewpoints and buses that can take you to other towns and countries! Yolina and Venko are great hosts, hoping to come back!

I already miss it a lot! I have never been in such an incredible place, not only for all the things you can do around but because of how welcoming everyone in Marie's family were From the moment I got there, everyone was absolutely amazing! We spend some time togetherand it was so nice! I made beautiful connections, amazing friendships and met people who taught me a lot The work was good, and with my roomie(the best)we used the rest of the day for our little hikes and we got to see some goats and cows with bells! I felt so warm and welcomed here, I cannot recommend it enough cant wait to be ba

I had a wonderful month at Haus Kärnten. Marie and her family are very welcoming. The tasks are easy and the place is located in a beautiful part of Austria. I hope to return someday!

Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first world packers experience. Marie and Arno (+her parents who were briefly there) were absolutely AMAZING so kind and generous and made me feel so welcomed! Loved all our chats and meals spent together - will miss it a lot. The work was very reasonable and was done in a few hours so most of the day was spent exploring the beautiful surrounding wilderness (the friendly farm animals everywhere were a highlight) and meeting the most amazing roomie/ other volunteer (as it was the end of the season so less volunteers were needed). 10/10
