Stunning undiscovered part of France, history from the Romans through the 100 years war. Wonderful food and wine. Hosts are determined to show the best of the region in return for easy 5 hours a day. Access to internet, car(subject to driving licence and insurance), accomodation in separate cottage with TV and internet.

We welcome those who choose to spend some time with us, We are not looking for a long term commitment, just a few weeks in a wonderful location

I had such a great time at the chateau! The surrounding area was beautiful! Mary recommended lots of historical sites nearby and we took advantage on our days off. The house we stayed it was very cozy and the work hours were quite easy. We painted a wall and a ceiling during our time there. We had access to a car, and did some cool day trips as well. We enjoyed many dinners with our hosts and enjoyed socializing! Thank you Mary and Jeremy

Noah and I had a wonderful experience at the Chateau de Balarin! Mary and Jeremy, were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our entire stay, and we highly recommend this experience. Our tasks included painting walls, sanding window panes, raking leaves, and organizing furniture. The work was well communicated, flexible, relatively easy, and not too tedious. We had an entire cottage to ourselves to live and cook our own meals in, which was lovely as well. On our days off, we took the car to explore nearby cities, go hiking, or go rock climbing. The fall colors were beautiful too!

I absolutely loved my time in the Chateau!! Mary and Jeremy are great hosts I loved getting to know them and having dinners with them. They were so kind and always made sure I was comfortable there. This property is absolutely dreamy and I will always keep this memory close to my heart. I hipe to one day come back! I was alone in my own cottage and never felt unsafe or anything like that at all. The cottage was divine and if you know how to drive manual cars they will have one there for you to use. Absolutely recommend!

Nuestra experiencia junto a Mary y Jeremy fue increíble, siempre muy preocupados de nosotros y que no nos faltara nada, con tareas diarias muy amigables de realizar en un entorno muy agradable, lleno de naturaleza e historia. Our experience at Chateau de Balarin was very good , we spent an excellent three weeks with Mary and Jeremy. They were always very kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
The place is truly beautiful and peaceful, and the tasks were simple and easy to carry out.
We’re very grateful and hope to meet again someday
