Casa Mayor Yoga Retreat

We are a Yoga and Meditation centre, with olive and almond groves. We are developing the areas around the centre now, creating vegetable gardens, orchards and flower gardens.

At the moment we are preferably looking for helpers with DIY skills / gardening skills / computer and editing skills.

We will be clearing land, shredding and mulching , and making some new garden beds etc. Also, weather permitting some painting

The work schedule would be approx 4 hours per day, and the accommodation is shared rooms in the original farmhouse. The heating is traditional log fires and the food is vegetarian

I had an awesome week at Casa Mayor with Deirdre and Bill. It is such a tranquil place, and I was able to really disconnect from my everyday life. I was there during a retreat, and helped with food preparation and clearing up. I learnt so much from cooking with Deirdre in her kitchen. I also was able to chat with the guests and loved walking around the property and picking almonds. I walked to Comares too, which was one of my highlights. I loved my little spot in the caravan on top of the hill too. Incredible energy and amazing views! Casa Mayor is a special place! and would r

I had a great time at Casa Mayor! the work was at consistente times and we Took a break for sandwiches every day. The whole area is gorgeous and there is so much to explore.

Mi primera experiencia de voluntariado no podría haber sido mejor. El centro de retiro es un lugar mágico en el que logré conectarme, localizado en un lugar precioso entre el océano y las montañas. Las actividades fueron buenas y la experiencia fue única, llena de aprendizajes que podré aplicar en mi vida desde ahora. Deirdre y Bill son personas comprometidas con su proyecto y estilo de vida, cada indicación fue dada de manera adecuada y ordenada, su guía fue clave para el seguimiento de las actividades y me encantaría regresar pronto a este hermoso lugar y volver a contribuir a su crecimiento

We had an amazing time at Casa Mayor! Deidre and Bill are both very very nice, and so are their four sweet dogs!We felt at home right from the start, and really enjoyed staying up in the caravan. It offered great views and privacy.

We mostly stayed in the kitchen, helping Deidre cook and prepare the meals. We really enjoyed her cooking, so it was great to get some behind the scenes.

We didn’t have the time / possibility to join a lot of yoga classes, but we did our own up by the van which was nice !

If you stay longer and like hiking, we recommend walking to comares! (2,5 hour hike ish)

Our experience at casa Mayor couldn't have been better! Deirdre and Bill are truly caring and deeply kind.
The work is quite flexible and consists mainly of helping in the kitchen and cleaning the main areas.
We stayed in the caravan high up in the grounds, which was very cozy and offered privacy.
I would love to come back to Casa Mayor in these beautiful mountains.
