Association of Cambodia Child First

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and leave your mark on the world? This project offers the chance to transform lives through education, a cornerstone of human development. By joining us, you'll help enhance the educational journey of hundreds of children, creating a lasting and positive influence in their lives.

Our school is located in a charming village near Siem Reap, Cambodia. This setting provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and experience daily Cambodian life firsthand. The school is conveniently located just a five-minute bike ride from your accommodations at our home. We provide bicycles for your commute and for exploring the surrounding area.

During your time with us, you'll become part of our family. You'll enjoy engaging in local activities, sharing meals, and creating memorable moments together.

Since 2014, Cambodia Child First has been dedicated to improving learning conditions in the Siem Reap community of Cambodia. We provide underprivileged children with the opportunity to learn and practice English and Chinese, fostering their global communication skills. Additionally, we offer arts programs to enhance their creativity and self-expression, as well as sports activities to develop their physical abilities and teamwork. As a non-governmental organization (NGO), our school serves as a supplemental educational resource, with children attending classes during their extra school hours in the afternoons and evenings.

This was my first time volunteering and it was truly an incredible experience. Yat and his family welcomed me into their family home and showed me the most authentic and traditional Cambodian culture, which Yat is very passionate about. The teaching itself was only in the afternoons so the mornings are free to explore the local area or sit at the cafe, Yat even took us on a tour of his village to local markets and temples. The children are absolutely adorable and it’s hard not to get attached! I will be forever grateful to Yat for this opportunity and highly recommend to anyone considering.

I highly recommend this experience! Yat and Yat’s family have been super! What Yat is doing is inspiring. The school is lovely, there are many possible activities to do there for the kids. I feel that the volunteers could be more taken care of with better communication on the task at school. Sometimes we felt a little bit lost. In any case what Yat is doing for the community and for these kids is incredible. The best thing of all.. the kids!!!

The host was incredible so attentive to my every need, constant communication and really caring. I felt very comfortable in there home, unlimited drinking water, laundry and great food, access to motorbike and bicycle. I also loved the work it was only a few hours a day teaching students English and I volunteered extra by helping with social media and to write a few key documents. Would highly recommend was truly life changing and culturally immersive.

My week at ACCF was fantastic. Yat and Mama Orn were perfect hosts, taking me to explore the local area and inviting me to local events. I was lucky enough to go to 3 weddings during my stay! The work at the school was great too! I largely worked with a Cambodian teacher (Mr T or Yat) and helped children with their pronunciation. The kids were all very enthusiastic and made me feel very welcome! Thank you Yat and Mama Orn for a lovely stay!
