I stayed 2 months with Danny at the shelter and had the best time ever. Daniel is the sweetest, most caring and passionate person I've ever met. He taught me so many things about permaculture, wild Amazonian animals and everyday life in the Peruvian jungle. You could see the true passion and love for this place in his eyes. He made me feel at home there. The place is a treasure on Earth, with so many varieties of plants and animals, making every day a new adventure. I was able to meet so many international volunteers and got to bond with the locals, a bond that I'll never forget.

Thank you for all the wonderful experiences with the animals, the jungle and the local community. Time flew by very fast and it was difficult to say goodbye. Will definitely come back again soon 😁😁

I had a wonderful time at the shelter. Not only was there a lot of diversity from day to day but it was also fun and very educational. I walk away from this experience having learned many valuable things first hand from Danny and everyone involved in the project.

Great experience! Once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Amazon rainforest, and get to work with animals. It was my first experience with world packers. I would definitely recommend this if it's your first time. Daniel makes you feel really comfortable, and is good with communicating. You will definitely come back with some stories!

We really enjoyed the time and extended our stay. Danny is very committed, very friendly and always there for the volunteers and locals. During the work you easily come into contact with animals and people from the region. If you are interested in animals, nature and local culture, this volunteer program is highly recommended.

We had the best time! The tasks were straight-forward and you were motivated to work hard knowing that you were directly contributing to whichever sub-project you were working on (upkeep at the animal sanctuary, reforestation of the conservation area, helping in the local village, etc). We also got to socialise with locals which we loved! Throughout our time there, we learned so much and were really engaged with all aspects of the experience. Danny was a huge part of that, making sure we were always comfortable, curious and happy. He really is the heart and soul of the project!

This project is a MUST for any nature/animal lovers. Danny is the most passionate and kind-hearted coordinator; he is the heart and soul of the project and his local community. He was extremely accommodating and provided lots of educational insights. Tasks were really fun and you felt like you were directly contributing to the animals' welfare and conservation efforts. Days were varied depending on which sub-project you worked on and the animals were an absolute highlight. The accommodation was fantastic and we really enjoyed the social activities with the locals too.

We had such a good time, we extended the stay from 2 to 5 weeks! Danny is an amazing human with a great mission! We felt comfortable the first minute we met him. As he works with other locals and their projects, you learn so much. If you are interested in animals, the environment, plants and other cultures, you should do it. 10/10 experience ❤️

It was my first volunteer experience, and I can't stop thinking that I have been very lucky. Daniel make all the reservations to come to the jungle, so you just need to go to Cuzco and a bus will take you to the city. We went exploring the first day the animal sanctuary, the humming bird park, we went during the week into an Indigenous community, but I have never felt as a tourist doing “white savior things” everything was super natural. Danny really tried to give us the best experience of the jungle. There was not so much musquitos or snakes or spider. Thanks again to Ada, Cesar and Yuni.

My time with the shelter was nothing short of magical. Danny is an excellent host who has so much passion for saving animals and the rainforest. Not only was I able to spend my days bonding with the monkeys, but I also had the opportunity to explore into the jungle and visit the nearby villages, and even try maggots🫢. I plan to come back many times in my future to visit Danny and the monkeys and spend more time in the rainforest. If you have an opportunity to come work with Danny, I 100% recommend you take it, it is a once in a lifetime experience that you won't regret.
