We start our adventure at midnight to make the 4-hour journey to the Bromo volcano. Departing early is essential to catch the world-famous sunrise over the volcanic sea of sand.

I spent 10 days at Omah Sinau Gesang, and it has been a wonderful experience. From the first day, they welcomed me like family. Wow, where to begin! I have had the most incredible experience at the organization. In only such a short space of time I feel like I have experienced and learnt so much. This volunteering experience so impactful and so fun but I have also found my family in Indonesia 🫶🏽 Asih was kind, humble, loving and incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable.
