Karen Hill Tribe Weaving Experience – Mae Na Chang Village

A unique opportunity for anyone interested in art, design, or traditional crafts! Learn to weave step by step, from preparing the threads to creating your own handwoven fabric.

This class shares Karen-style weaving and helps preserve and pass on traditional weaving culture to everyone.

What you offer

6 hours of help per day

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 15 Per week

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Fee: 500 THB per day \ person Includes: • All weaving materials and tools • Step-by-step instruction, from basic to advanced • Guidance on designing your own fabric • Take-home finished item (bag, skirt, wallet, scarf, or clothing piece) • Full weaving kit to continue at home • All food and accommodation

Activities & Shift

Karen Hill Tribe Weaving Experience – Mae Na Chang Village

Experience hands-on, one-on-one weaving with Karen women! Weaving a bag usually takes about one week, depending on the pattern, while weaving a skirt or top takes about two weeks, depending on the design. Every finished item is yours to take home for free.

Class Schedule:
• Monday–Saturday: Morning session 9:00–11:00 am, break for lunch, then afternoon session 1:00–3:00 pm
• Sunday: Free day with activities such as hiking and learning about the Karen way of life
