The experience
Role Overview:
As a volunteer at Upendo, you will actively participate in community-focused projects designed to empower individuals and improve livelihoods. This role involves collaborating with local staff and community members to support initiatives in education, youth mentorship, environmental conservation, and skill development.

Description:
A contribution of 15 euros per week per person would be greatly appreciated. This contributes to the well-being of the household and to the foundation's expenses.
Its primary purpose is to cover accommodation costs (3 meals per days, electricity, running water, transportation).
The remaining amount will be used trough the foundation (medication, food, supplies...ect).

Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Beginner English or Beginner Swahili
Between 18 and 80 years old

Community Development Volunteer
This Agreement is made between:
Upendo Community Based Organization (hereinafter referred to as "Upendo")
and
[Volunteer Name] (hereinafter referred to as "Volunteer")
1. Purpose of Agreement:
The purpose of this agreement is to outline the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the Volunteer and Upendo during the volunteer placement.
2. Volunteer Responsibilities:
The Volunteer agrees to:
- Actively participate in community development projects as assigned.
- Respect the culture, traditions, and values of the local community.
- Commit to the agreed schedule and notify Upendo of any changes in availability.
- Follow Upendo’s policies and guidelines, including safety protocols.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
3. Upendo Responsibilities:
Upendo agrees to:
- Provide the Volunteer with a clear orientation and project overview.
- Offer guidance, supervision, and support throughout the placement.
- Ensure the Volunteer’s safety and well-being during all activities.
- Provide necessary materials and tools for project work.
- Facilitate cultural immersion opportunities and meaningful engagement.
4. Duration of Agreement:
The volunteer placement will commence on *[Start Date]* and conclude on *[End Date]*, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
5. Code of Conduct:
The Volunteer agrees to uphold the values of respect, equality, and teamwork. Any misconduct, including disrespectful behaviour or violation of policies, may result in termination of this agreement.
6. Confidentiality:
The Volunteer agrees to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to Upendo, its staff, and community members.
Activities & Shift
Weekly Volunteer Schedule (25 Hours/5 Days)
Monday
- 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Educational Support (help children with literacy and numeracy skills).
- 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Environmental Conservation (clean-ups or tree planting).
- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Admin Support (record-keeping or social media updates).
Tuesday
- 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Youth Mentorship (engage with young adults on life skills and career guidance).
- 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Skills Training Workshop (assist in tailoring, beadwork, or other local crafts).
- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Community Outreach (visit homes, support vulnerable families).
Wednesday
- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Health Awareness Campaign Prep (organize flyers and materials).
- 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Cultural Exchange (participate in storytelling, dance, or cooking sessions with locals).
Thursday
- 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Educational Support (focus on tutoring or homework assistance).
- 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Environmental Conservation (recycling workshops or awareness).
- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Admin Support (assist with documentation or fundraising activities).
Friday

Schedules are flexible, this is an example of a timetable within the foundation. It may change depending on the needs of the community.

3. Maintain Professionalism and Integrity: Uphold honesty, kindness, and a positive attitude in all interactions, while following Upendo's policies and safety guidelines.
