The experience

Join our team at Hostelle, a women-only hostel in Amsterdam. You’ll help host and organize events, promote them on social media, and create content such as Instagram reels and TikToks. You may also cover reception shifts, including night shifts from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and occasionally morning or afternoon shifts. During nights, you’ll be responsible for the hostel phone in case of late check-ins. Light daily tasks are also part of the role.

What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 25 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Our volunteer program is based on collaboration, responsibility, and cultural exchange. Volunteers support daily hostel operations, events, and social media while living on-site. In return, volunteers receive accommodation and become part of an international, women-only hostel community in Amsterdam.
The program requires a commitment of up to 24 hours per week, scheduled across different tasks and shifts.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers are expected to work up to 24 hours per week, spread across the following activities:

- Hosting and organizing hostel events (individual and shared with other volunteers)

- Promoting events and creating content for social media, including Instagram reels and TikTok videos

- Covering reception shifts, including night shifts from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and occasionally morning or afternoon shifts

- Handling the hostel phone during night hours in case of late check-ins or urgent matters

- Assisting with light daily tasks and general support around the hostel

Schedules may vary week to week depending on operational needs.

Rules

- A commitment of up to 24 hours per week is expected

- Reliability and punctuality are essential for all shifts and events

- Clear communication is required for scheduling, events, and content planning

- Volunteers must follow hostel rules, safety procedures, and staff instructions

- Respect for guests, staff, and fellow volunteers is mandatory at all times
