The experience

My name is Hapizin and I am 37 years old. I live in a little village in Lombok with my wife and two beautiful children. I work in an Islamic bording School and in my free time teach English to the local children. I would love volunteers to come and help me teach the children at the Islamic boarding school teaching them basic English and having conversations with the students to improve their confidence.

What you offer

3 hours of help per day

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Materials for volunteer activities and Donation to project

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Program Details

The programme will involve helping students with basic English and having conversations with the students in English. If teaching doesn’t appeal to you but you have skills in other areas such as painting, decorating etc I would also love to hear from you too. There’s so much that can be done at the School. The small fee is for the accommodation and meals which will be cooked by my wife. Alternatively, you can find your own accommodation and we can discuss a price for daily meals.

Activities & Shift

During your time with me and my family, I will take you to explore the local Lombok area. I can take you to many places including: breathtaking waterfalls, tetebatu monkey forest, rice fields, bamboo crafting, traditional Lombok handweaving and learn from my family how to make coconut oil. If you enjoy sport, we can play badminton and football.
