Love being around people, music, and good food? Join our team at Petals & Pals, the vibrant restaurant & bar inside Urban Hotel The Golden Stork in Rijswijk. We’re looking for a sociable, reliable person to help serve guests, run food & drinks, and give a hand behind the bar.
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Bartending:
Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.
What you get

Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Program Details
At Petals & Pals, the lively restaurant and bar inside Urban Hotel The Golden Stork, we’re looking for friendly, energetic travelers to join our service team. You’ll be helping us create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests—whether you’re delivering a delicious cocktail, serving a fresh plate from the kitchen, or sharing a laugh with locals at the bar.
Your tasks will include taking orders, serving food and drinks, running plates from the kitchen, assisting behind the bar with basic drinks and coffee preparation, clearing tables, and keeping service areas clean and organized. On busy nights or during events, you might also help set up or lend an extra pair of hands wherever it’s needed.

We ask for 25 hours of help per week, usually spread over 4–5 shifts, so you’ll have plenty of time off to explore The Hague, the beach, or other cities in the Netherlands.

Activities & Shift
🍹 Daily Activities Checklist
Your goal is to keep service smooth, friendly, and fun for our guests. Typical tasks include:
Greeting guests with a smile and offering menus
Taking food & drink orders
Serving plates and drinks to tables
Assisting behind the bar with basic drinks and coffees
Clearing and resetting tables quickly
Refilling water, condiments, or cutlery stations
Keeping bar and service areas clean and tidy
Helping set up for events or busy service periods
🕒 Shift Structure
You’ll work 25 hours per week, usually spread over 4–5 shifts. Shifts may include:
Morning/Lunch Shift (10:00 – 15:00) – set up the bar, serve coffees, prepare the dining area, help with lunch service
Afternoon/Evening Shift (15:00 – 20:00) – serve drinks & food, assist behind the bar, clear tables, support dinner service
Event/Busy Night Shift (20:00 – 00:00) – assist with bar service, run plates, keep tables clear, help with closing tasks
We keep the schedule balanced so you have time to rest, explore, and enjoy The Hague’s nightlife too.

Respect everyone – We’re an inclusive, multicultural environment. Treat guests and colleagues with kindness.
Show up on time – Service is all about timing, and your team depends on you being ready at shift start.
No drugs or excessive alcohol during your stay. Professionalism matters, even in a social environment.
Stay clean & presentable – You’re serving food and drinks, so good hygiene and a neat appearance are important.
Keep the vibe positive – Busy shifts happen; we keep calm and work together.
Minimum stay is 4 weeks – It helps us train you and keep the service smooth.
No outside guests in the staff dorm.
Be proactive – If you see something that needs doing, jump in and help.
We work hard but also laugh a lot. Bring your best energy and you’ll fit right in!
