Program Details
Please note: first half of February, focus is on DIY/Decorating.
This is a large Georgian rectory in the peaceful village of Llanfynydd, North Wales. While renovation work is paused, I need a practical, reliable volunteer to help care for two kittens, keep the house running smoothly, and prepare simple meals — especially when I’m away.
From March onwards, there will also be opportunities for volunteers with decorating, DIY or labouring experience to help with the renovation.
The village is rural, but have a shop and lovely pub. It’s well connected: Chester and Wrexham are under 30 minutes away, and Liverpool is less than an hour by car. Volunteers consistently love the balance of countryside, kittens, and easy access to lively cities.
This role suits someone independent, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility, in a relaxed and friendly household with plenty of humour.
Activities & Shift
You’ll help around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Current tasks include caring for two kittens, general housekeeping, keeping shared spaces tidy, and preparing simple meals. From late February onwards, tasks may also include painting, decorating and light labour as renovation work resumes.
This role suits someone practical and proactive who can see what needs doing and get on with it without close supervision. We’re flexible with start times, and you’ll always have two full days off each week. There is often at least one other volunteer staying.
Rules
- No smoking inside the house
- Be respectful of the shared living space
- We ask for a tidy-up after meals and shared use of kitchen
- Drivers must be responsible when sharing the car
-We value open communication — let us know if anything's bothering you
- Please don’t invite outsiders into the home without checking first
- Most importantly: bring a sense of humour and willingness to pitch in!
