Cafe help (hall, kitchen, cleaning)
The experience
We need some help during a peak season for serving, busing, and cleaning the cafe! If you are comfortable with it, we may also have you help making drinks as well.
We are on a fun pedestrian-only tourist street, and have a mix of local Japanese customers, and international travelers. Most of the work will be related to helping clear & serve tables in the hall, or doing dishes and running some small errands (send you by bicycle to the market).

Program Details
You will share a room with up to one other volunteer staff. We do not have a regular meal program, but we sometimes invite everyone for dinners together as a family when we have available time. All staff are welcome to feel at home and spend time in the guesthouse lounge or in the public area of our cafe whenever they want. We provide free drinks from the cafe anytime (great coffee and matcha!)
Activities & Shift
The activities will mostly consist of help clean tables, serving meals and drinks, and cleaning (wiping counters, sweeping, dishes.... lots of dishes...)
If you are up for it, you may also learn to make drinks!
The shifts will either be afternoon (around 1pm-6pm) or night time (6pm-11pm). Sometimes I'll request to change the hours a little depending on what we have going on that day, but of course we will be considerate of your plans (if you already made plans to go out hiking with a friend, etc).
You will have 3 days off each week, and we will try to put all three days together so you can have longer trips exploring the area.
Rules
Staff is welcome to hang out in our guesthouse lounge, but cannot invite outside people to that area.
At all times, be respectful of cafe customers and guesthouse guests.
If spending time in our guesthouse, you'll need to follow the regular guesthouse rules, such as being quiet after 10pm.
The entire building is non-smoking, but people can smoke outside in front of our cafe.
Staff may use laundry machines free of charge.
