This unique program combines trekking across scenic mountain trails with cultural immersion in the lives and traditions of the local Kikuyu, Meru, and Embu people. Description:
The $250 volunteer fee covers accommodation ($80), partial meals ($50), project materials ($45), local transport ($30), orientation and guide support ($25), and direct community contributions ($20). This fee ensures your stay is safe and impactful while supporting Ruiru Sportiff’s feeding programs, charity work, animal care, painting, and cultural exchange in Nairobi’s slums.

🥾 1. Guided Hiking & Trekking
Trekking routes include:
Sirimon Route (popular and scenic)
Chogoria Route (lush and dramatic)
Naro Moru Route (shortest but steepest)
Options for:
Day hikes on the lower slopes
Multi-day treks to Point Lenana (4,985 m)
Experienced climbers may attempt technical routes to Batian and Nelion peaks

Follow your guide’s instructions at all times. Your guide knows the terrain and weather conditions best.
Stay on marked trails only. Avoid shortcuts to protect yourself and the environment.
Do not attempt technical climbs without proper experience and equipment. Only certified climbers should attempt Batian or Nelion.
Carry sufficient water, food, and appropriate gear. Weather can change rapidly at altitude.
Inform your group or guide if you feel unwell. Altitude sickness is common; early reporting is vital.

Do not litter. Carry all waste with you and dispose of it responsibly.
Do not pick plants or disturb wildlife. Mount Kenya’s flora and fauna are protected and fragile.
Camp only at designated sites. Help preserve the natural habitat by respecting camping rules.
