Volunteers for teaching English in Hà Nội, Vietnam

Completely different than I expected, but in a good way! :D If you're searching for a really deep dive into local culture, than theres no better place than here! So many nice & funny people I met here and had a great time together! Locationwise the Homestay is a bit out of the home, still easy to get into the center (just takes some time), but therefore wayyy more quiet and absolutely not touristy, so prepare to learn some Vietnamese or struggle in the local restaurants ;D All in all I'm so thankful for this experience and I'd do it again every time, thanks Margaret for the invitation! :))

It was my first experience with worldpackers and even though i applied last minute and for a short term, Margarete made everything possible for me to engage at the homestay! The atmosphere is absolutely welcoming and the conversation classes in the evening were very enriching to me! I highly recommend staying at this place and meeting the wonderful team with their lovely crazy ideas!

Everyone at this homestay are very welcoming! You will have a lot of free time to explore around and the city is quite calm but you can reach the old town in 40minutes. I enjoyed my stay speaking with student , playing games at night . Margaret is really lovely I will come back anytime I can !

The hosts (Harry, Margaret, and Alex) are friendly and highly devoted to teaching English at their homestay. The Vietnamese students are sincere and affectionate. I recommend this opportunity for the amazing vibes created by the hosts and the students.

Volunteering here was an amazing experience! The teachers at this place are sooo welcoming and supportive. The students are amazing too! Working hours are mostly in the evening, so I had plenty of time to explore the city! I met so many friendly and nice people :) Thank you for everything!

We stayed at the homestay for 15 days, and the people truly made the experience unforgettable. Everyone was warm, kind, and always ready to help. The only discomfort was the rats on the first floor, which is common in the home, but Harry did his best to fix the issue and always responded quickly to anything we mentioned. We felt safe, welcomed, and connected to the local culture. Special thanks to Chung, who made our stay even more memorable. We definitely recommend this homestay to other volunteers!

Our experience was great overall. The place is calmer than the home, which we really enjoyed. The teachers were kind, energetic, and very welcoming. Conditions were good, and when we mentioned a cleanliness issue, Harry fixed it immediately. The schedule is a bit chaotic, but fun. Important to know: there are rats in the common areas (not in the rooms), and in this part of Vietnam rats are common, so just keep it in mind. The best part was the amazing group of volunteers. I would definitely recommend this project. It was our first experience, and we truly felt good and well taken care of.

The experience is really great, I arrived Sunday afternoon and Margaret was there to welcome me. As the class starts at 7.30pm every night, you got plenty of free time during the day to explore local area and the home city. In terms activities, not much to do around the area except for exploring local foods and experiencing the true local life. All the students and teachers were really nice, sometimes they asked volunteers to join them for dinner or going out during the weekend.
