Activities & Shift
Check-In & Briefing (10 min): Swing by the housekeeping desk, grab your name badge and a quick rundown of which rooms and areas need TLC today.
Room Rounds (2 hrs): Team up with your mentor to dust, vacuum, swap linens, restock toiletries and coffee stations in dorms and common spaces.
Coffee Break & Catch-Up (15 min): Grab a drink, swap stories with teammates, and ask any “how-do-I” questions.
Final Touches (1 hr 35 min): Tackle last-minute spot-checks—shiny mirrors, folded towels, fluff those pillows—and help fold laundry if there’s time.
Wrap-Up (10 min): Return supplies, log your hours, share any guest shout-outs, and high-five your crew before heading off!
Rules
Rules & Expectations for Volunteer Housekeeping Crew
Be Punctual
Arrive 5 minutes before your shift, badge on, ready to roll—late starts throw off the whole team.
Dress the Part
Wear your volunteer T-shirt (we’ll provide) with comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Keep hair tied back and nails short for safety and hygiene.
Stay Positive & Professional
Treat every guest and teammate with respect. Friendly hellos go a long way, but no personal calls or headphones on the job.
Follow Safety First
Use cleaning products as instructed—gloves on when needed, wet-floor signs up, and ask if you’re unsure about any task.
Protect Guest Privacy
Never go through guest belongings or share room numbers. If you find left-behind items, hand them to your mentor right away.
Communicate Clearly
Spot a maintenance issue or run out of supplies? Let your mentor or the housekeeping desk know ASAP so we keep things smooth.
Stick to Your Commitments
If you can’t make a scheduled shift, give us 24 hours’ notice so we can fill your spot.
Keep It Clean & Tidy
Return carts and equipment to their proper place, wipe down tools after use, and leave work areas as neat as you found them.
Ask Questions
No such thing as a dumb question—if you’re ever unsure, just ask your mentor. We’re here to help you learn!
Have Fun & Learn
Embrace the behind-the-scenes tour, soak up pro tips, and enjoy making our hotel shine.
Stick to these, and you’ll fit right in with The Golden Stork family!
