I found Marco to be incredibly rude, volatile, and even scary. He backtracked on multiple promises. He promised the stone house I was to live in to me and another pair of world packers at the same time and then was frustrated with me that they chose not to stay afterwards, then was rude and bullied me for the rest of my time there for refusing to do something dangerous & not in alignment with the agreed upon assignment. He never Informed me that the hotel was not in operation anymore prior to my arrival so it was a very isolated experience as well. And the place is infested with roaches.

Kari, you (and your daughter and cat) arrived presenting yourself as capable and willing, even creating your own task list. Soon after, you refused to complete those tasks, causing tension. I never “bullied” you, my firmness came after repeated refusal and disrespect. This is a jungle-based home, not a hotel, as described. For future volunteer experiences, I recommend being upfront about your condition, so hosts can be aware and prepared that you can become hostile and aggressive.
