Volunteering at the host was one of the best experiences I've had. the host really helps to connect with the local culture. Working alongside Bea, Cindy, and Pam was an absolute joy. They are warm, welcoming, and make you feel like part of the family from day one. Every day brought something new and exciting and we had so much fun. The only minor downside was the room, which felt a bit old and rundown. But I guess it helps to connect better with the other volunteers. All in all, I highly recommend this opportunity to anyone passionate about food, culture and connecting with locals.

I got lucky with the host being my first ever volunteer position on worldpackers. It was an amazing place with the best staff ever. Pam, Cindy and Bea made me feel so welcome and at home, also helped me a lot with my Spanish. The other volunteers were really great and the tasks and hours are super straightforward and easy. Its a great time working with class fulls of world travellers as well. The hostel for volunteers is the only downside but its tolerable considering how good the host is.

I had an amazing time volunteering at the host. Pame, Beatriz and Cindy were a delight to work with and made me feel welcome immediately. The schedules are respected and you also have flexibility to change schedules with your peers. Unfortunately the accomodation was not what was advertised. You will share a room with the volunteers from the hostel: Mario and Daniel. I spoke to both respectfully and even the owner because they did not have empathy or consideration for when others slept which made 3+ volunteers left the experience early. If this is fixed, this would be a 5 star experience

My time at the host was amazing! I loved working with Sindy, Beatriz, and Pamela, and they were always kind, warm, and welcoming. Although the work description isn't super clear on their profile - you have to click LEARN MORE for the complete information - I was confident that whatever they needed I could provide. It is translation work from Spanish to English and vice versa, primarily, with a bit of cleaning and other assistance thrown in. For me, this was a great exchange, and probably my favorite one I've ever done because languages are my field of choice. I left with the best memories.

The experience was great, my partner and I had lots of fun translating, helping in the kitchen and interacting with the guests. The chefs are amazing in their job and treated us like family. The managers Eric and Pamela were also lovely people, always accommodating when we wished to have free time. The only issue was the room we slept in, but I was told also that now it's another room so it should be all good. In short we do recommend the volunteering here for many reasons, but specially the people, we miss them a lot!

I had a great time getting to know Beatrice and pamela. They were always positive and happy and created such a welcoming environment. They even gave me and another volunteer a going away lunch!

This volunteer experience was great. The work was easy and fun and left a lot of free time for other activities. The food you make is great but gets repetitive eating the same meal every day. Also we are supposed to receive free dinner every night but if it's your day off or there's no classes that day you won't receive a meal. We were told we were welcome to use the ingredients in the kitchen but only were told that in the last couple days. Other than that it's a worth while experience. The chefs are great and you get to work with so many interesting people. Would recommend

I'm really disappointed with this experience. Almost nothing on the profile is accurate, and the communication was unacceptable. The room on the profile is completely different than the room provided. There were termites in the wood bed frames, and it felt like if you moved wrong the bunkbeds would collapse. They do not provide dinner every night as promised on the website. It's only when the class has leftovers and that's usually just scraps. The communication was very poor. When I brought up issues or constructive feedback it was ignored and met with passive aggression. The chefs are lovely.

I really did not enjoy this experience at all, i left extremely early. there is no kitchen, hardly ever hot water, the dorm room is honestly quite disgusting. the hostel is just not liveable personally and i felt very uncomfortable the whole time - dirty sheets, my curtain would fall on my head, people would touch my stuff. it was loud 24/7 as there is a call centre outside the room and some nights there would be parties behind the room. the host is ok to work at when there is a class, but when there is no class it is an extreme waste of time. i would definitely not recommend it her
