Program Details

Our values are based on anarchist, horizontal community. We reject any hierarchical and oppressive system, including those based on class, gender, sexuality, (dis)ability, race, religion, or lifestyle. We draw lots of inspiration from the Zapatista movement in Chiapas, MX. Just as these indigenous communities adapt and transform to their evolving needs, we strive to live in alignment with our ever-developing understanding of liberation and healing. What does this look like for us right now?
** Reducing our dependence on money by building relationships and by learning skills that increase our autonomy
** Making decisions based on minimizing harm and exploitation of environment and others, often at the expense of our convenience and comfort
** Questioning how many resources we really need to live a good life and exploring ways to live with less
** Rising up to the challenge of conflict resolution, knowing that we will grow closer to the other person and understand ourselves more profoundly

We are excited to host volunteers who are also on this journey of healing and re-learning to care for each other and our planet. There's much we can learn from one another and contribute to each other's lives. Andrew is an artisan, sourdough baker with lots of experience in education and counseling. If you want to add vegan cooking (with a focus on whole food, plant-based) to your skillset, you'll be in the right place. Addy is a children's book illustrator and would be more than happy to support artists with developing their portfolio. Whatever your reasons for volunteering with us, we want to support you the best we can!
