Volunteering at the guest house was a much welcomed reset and an opportunity to try something new and different while making an impact and helping a small business. The hours, responsibilities, and tasks were within reason, and the people you meet are incredible! Pedro, Mariana, Caetano, and the surf instructors are super welcoming and helpful. I volunteered for three months, and they genuinely felt like a second family. Both locations have easy access to local sights, groceries, and restaurants. I can't recommend this experience enough!

My time at the guest house was amazing. The area is so beautiful and learning to surf was AMAZING. The working shifts were very simple and clear. I would recommend to all:)

I extended my stay for one more month with the guest house family. A true Portuguese family. I will definitely come back, either as a volunteer or just to share some mates with them.

I loved my time volunteering at MobyDick Lodge! The work hours were respected and the tasks were completely manageable, leaving you enough time to surf and explore the stunning surroundings. I worked at the Lodge in Colares, we had a general scheduling plus specific tasks given day by day when necessary but still, also plenty of flexibility on their side. I will always cherish the nice relaxed atmosphere and all the people I met during my stay, I would 101% recommend :)

If you are considering applying for a job through workdpackers, you should consider the guest house! Mariana and the rest of the team were very welcoming and I had so much fun working at this hostel. The tasks were easy and there were a lot of time to surf and do other activities! The place is quite remote so be prepared to travel by bus or car/uber to get to other places! But other than that is was amazing 💚 would love to go back one day!

Mariana, Caetano, Pedro and the whole surf team were super kind and welcoming. They share the Portuguese values and lifestyle, very chill even when issues arise (something I am taking into my personal life as well). The shifts were respected and the chores were excatly the ones described in the offer. I always had a place for joining the surf lessons (unless they took place during my shift, which is an unpredictable issue as they depend on the tides and sea conditions).

At the guest house I've had my first experience as a volunteer and I can totally say I've loved it. The environment was super chill and relax, tasks were easy, the other volunteers were amazing and the area around the lodge has a stunning nature, with beautiful beaches and forests were to go for a hike or climbing. And one of the best parts was for sure the possibility to take part to many surf lessons, which helped me and all the guests a lot. Sometimes communication and organization could be messy, so be ready to a very relaxed mood, but I definitely suggest this experience! Thank you the guest house

The guest house was my first Worldpackers experience and I really couldn't have wished for a better one! Mariana is a really kind and thoughtful person and she as well as the whole team made me feel welcome from the very first second on. :) The lodge will always have a special place in my heart and if you enjoy watching sunsets by the beach, explore beautiful hiking trails and connect with lovely people from all over the world, you should definitely add the guest house to your to do list !!🌞🌞
