Program Details

We are a foreign couple (66 and 58) who have traded city life for this wonderful natural setting by the sea. We are deeply committed to helping our local community of 5,000 incredibly friendly residents who still preserve their ancient traditions. Over time, we have set up ethnographic museum, led a beautification project for the island, and, with the help of a fantastic German carpenter, we transformed an abandoned Spanish colonial fort into a charming hotel where island authorities can now host their guests.

Volunteering means so much more than lending a hand. For us, it’s about exploring the world, connecting with different cultures, sharing stories, and leaving a positive impact. If you have a generous heart, we’d truly love to meet you.

What we're working on; due to the rainy season, we’ve postponed our upcoming projects until August. Here’s what we’ll be focusing on:

Restoring a cozy cabin perched on the cliffside
Improving the steps that lead down to a secluded white-sand beach
Building original hand-crafted tables and benches to bring charm and character to a magical new rest area

With every project, we give back to the local community—beautifying the island and creating job opportunities.

Staying with us at our beach house: we will be always excited to hear about your adventures from around the globe. In the afternoons, we’ll share meals inspired by dishes from different countries—and sometimes we might ask you to cook something from your own culture, because sharing flavors is part of the magic here.Sometimes we will take you to eat at the locals home to eat their tradicional food.

To keep things cozy and comfortable, we can only host 1 or 2 people at a time in our home at the beach. If you prefer we can also accommodate you near the project

Activities & Shift

We appreciate creativity and value people who are motivated and well-organized. Looking for experienced and creative carpenters (age 35+).
If you have a background in building or hands-on work, your skills would be incredibly valuable to us.
We provide accommodation in our home and 3 meals. If you'd prefer to stay closer to the project, we can arrange for you to lodge with a local community leader.

We'll be working together from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 12 noon. (We take a break and have a snack at 9 a.m)
Afternoons and weekends are yours to explore, relax, or take a swim.

Rules

On your first day, we won’t ask you to work—you’ll have time to relax, get comfortable with your surroundings, and together we’ll map out our goals. We want you to feel comfortable here, so we’ll respect your space while welcoming you into our world, making sure you leave with great memories.

Since there’s no public transport, would be advisable to be skilled in riding a motorcycle. You will need to rent one for getting around.

If you are genuinely interested in joining us, please introduce yourself, send photos of your previous projects and tell us about your skills. Experience matters!! If selected, we can then discuss everything further to ensure the experience suits everyone’s needs. Thanks
