🌊 Live the Island Life: Volunteer in a Paradise Sanctuary!
The experience
Bring your talent where it truly matters. Volunteer in paradise. Leave your mark.
Let nature inspire you. Swim through vibrant marine sanctuaries and watch sea turtles, discover hidden white-sand coves, follow quiet mountain trails where lizards warm themselves in the sun and monkey families appear lively. Yes, places like this still exist—untouched by crowds. Our home is just steps from the sea.

Program Details
We are a foreign couple (66 and 58) who have traded city life for this wonderful natural setting by the sea. We volunteer closely with the local authorities. We don’t get paid for what we do; we help simply because we care deeply about this generous and kind community.
We were supposed to start this project in August, but I fell ill and had to return to my home country for hospitalization. I'm now recovered and will be traveling to the Philippines at the end of September, which means we'll begin the project from October through February
OUR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT: The island, home to approx 5.000 people, relies primarily on copra production, harvested every 3 months. However, this activity faces growing risks: diseases affecting coconut trees and the impacts of extreme weather threaten the community’s economic stability. It’s not just that many families go without income during seasons when coconuts are scarce, they also face the challenge of sending remittances to their children studying at universities off the island.
In light of this reality, there is an urgent need for a sustainable economic alternative that preserves the island’s cultural and natural identity while strengthening its social and economic resilience.
Every year, little by little, we’re making the island more beautiful, turning it into a refuge for travelers who want to spend time surrounded by nature and peace, far from the noise of the cities.
This will not be just another island where authenticity is compromised by uncontrolled tourism. Its authorities have clear strategies in place to protect its cultural values and natural enviroment
Activities & Shift
We appreciate creativity and value people who are motivated and well-organized. Looking for experienced carpenters, builders, electrician with welding skills and a cheff. Also Seeking an experienced landscape designer who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
We are going to restore 2 buildings and turn them into 2 distinctive coffee shops, one positioned on a cliff with fantastic sea views and improving with gardens the scenic path to its hidden beach of pristine white sand. We're also completing the second floor of the Fort (which you have seen in the video). After we finish the restaurations, a chef will be joining us to offer classes to a group of locals, focusing on desserts and appetizers, as well as teaching them how to manage a cafe. We’re building the coffee shops especially for the locals.
Someone asked me why I don’t hire local carpenters, masons, etc. It’s because I’ve found that foreign professionals have a kind of magic touch, especially when I tell them they’re free to use their senses and let their creativity flow. The island’s Mayor doesn’t have the budget to hire qualified professionals, so I decided to look for other foreigners like me who want to volunteer (this is not a paid job).
