Worst thing about this is the time here was to short. Really felt a home here. The dogs is cute and what an experience to have Luna on the beach. All the dogs are special. The lokation is perfect 7 min from the beach. There are horses running loss around in the beach. And Sally is just the sweetest host. She answers fast and she really put aloy of time into the dogs. Amazing. Im.in love with this place. Even the Chinese woman in the store so sweet she learned me a new spanish word everytime i came. People are Nice i feel very safe here. I cant recommend this enough.

I'm glad to have spent two weeks at the the shelter. These dogs truly rely on the help of volunteers. You are making a difference in their lives. A few things to note. Be prepared for some dirty work. You're cleaning up after several dogs. The accommodations are next to the dog's living area which means you may be woken up a few times a night. Twice the dogs were surrounding an intrusive crab, so I saved a few crab's lives too. I can't stress how important volunteers are to this shelter. Enjoy beach walks with the dogs and puppy snuggles. Leave with a heart full of gratitude.

It was an unforgettable experience, being in contact with these dogs who only need to be cared for with love and dedication. There are two accommodations. The more comfortable one is used by a volunteer who stays longer, and the other, more rustic, is the one I was assigned. Despite meeting their basic needs, I must say that at first I had a hard time getting used to the insects, since I come from the city where I don't live with them. But if you truly love dogs, this becomes secondary. Seeing their grateful and loving faces every day made every day at this shelter worthwhile.

Working at the shelter Sámara was a very good experience. Working with the dogs is very nice. I was working alongside another volunteer who is also from Mexico, however, I think there was a lot of exchange of ideas, learning and a friendship was formed. Sámara is a small place but the beaches nearby are incredible, it is also very easy to meet local people or those who are just passing through. I want to thank Sally and all her crew for giving me the opportunity and truth on me with the tasks I had during the volunteer ❤️

Taking care of abandoned dogs is not always easy but it contributes to a better world and we can all bring them a little love so let's help this cause, I appreciate that people like Sally contribute to a better world because it's a lot of work

The shelter dog shelter was very nice. It's a place where I took care of abandoned dogs. I learned a lot, and spending time with the dogs was pretty great.

The the shelter is a place full of love. I had a wonderful experience there. Sally is a wonderful host, and the place is very close to the beach. It was a dream to live in a traditional Costa Rican house close to nature and the ocean, surrounded by adorable rescued dogs.

Primero gracias a Sally por aceptarme y recibirme en su refugio. Ella y los demás voluntarios son responsables y dedicados con estos animalitos hermosos! El refugio brinda un buen lugar para vivir, sencillo pero cómodo, además otras facilidades como: supermercados cerca y playa a 2 cuadras. Samara está a 30 minutos caminando y es un pueblito hermoso! Es una experiencia que recomiendo al 100%. Me llevo en el corazón a cada uno de los perros, han dejado una huella con sus patitas en mi vida para siempre! Cada uno diferente, pero todos tan cariñosos. Extrañare tanto a cada uno de ellos!🐾♥️

Fue una experiencia única. Los perros del refugio nos robaron el corazón y el trabajo que hace el refugio en el pueblo es muy importante y formar parte de él fue una suerte. El voluntariado superó expectativas, el trabajo es agradable, flexible y muy ameno. El sitio es muy acogedor y cómodo. Está a 5 minutos andando de la playa y a 5 minutos andando del supermercado. Todo muy accesible y perfecto. Y sobretodo la anfitriona, Sally, es un amor. Nos ayudó en todo momento y su trabajo en el refugio es impecable. Echamos mucho de menos a los perritos, a Sally y a Sámara🫶🏻🩷.
